Her slides are very messy. She reads off of her notes every lecture when she's teaching. If you can get out of her class then do it!

Lectures are all over the place and she says the wrong thing in class all the time. Ppts are not as useful, basically have to teach yourself everything from the textbook/youtube videos. Too disorganized and doesnt explain key concepts well. Try to switch to a diff prof (charlotte!). GOES OFF TOPIC. and messes up grades so always go double check!!!

I went into this class based on all of the reviews and I can say that I am able to negate many of these reviews. She's a hilarious professor and is amazing at applying concepts (which is very important in nursing, duh). I got an 84 on the quiz, and I think going to her class really helped me see the big picture after learning concepts prior to cls.

She is a nice lady but very poor at explaining concepts. You have to teach the material to yourself in order to pass the course. She is all over the place when explaining things and it confuses you. The slides are also very confusing and does not follow the textbook order. It is very frustrating. Try to switch to other class if you can.

She is helpful during office hours and will help clarify concepts. Her class really helps in making content and processes clearer. Her expectations for quizzes and tests are clear. There is a lot of content for patho so she only goes over major concepts in lectures. Definitely read the textbook for the exams.

Beth was great. I had her for another course too and she was just as good. helpful, honest and a real person, not like some of the other profs at Ryerson. I like her.

Definitely a hard marker when it comes to the quizzes. Tests are pretty fair, but you really need to work for it. During lectures, she often talks (many times) about her cats, sons, etc... Can be off topic at many many times. Course itself is interesting, but she makes it hard and painful.

1. She does not hate you, although at times you might assume she does because you receive a lower mark than anticipated. 2. You must read; nursing is difficult, you're going to be self-directed one day, start today. 3. Go to class, helps recall the information.

she come to class and talk about dogs and her cats, time wasting, will lie and deceive you that previous students decide to do the reading on their own, she is just been lazy to teach, and she will made you do the reading on your own, no powerpoint or class teaching, just assume you are taken the course on line

Beth is a very nice person but she can be very flighty and goes off topic often. You wouldn't think so but she is a very hard marker. She is approachable but often she has no idea what is going on herself. I would prefer her over many other professors at Ryerson.

This is a difficult course and reading the textbook is crucial to succeeding. With that said, the slides may contain information not in the textbook and vice versa. Use the slides as a guide to knowing roughly what information to read/study in the textbook. Beth is very knowledgeable, but her lectures are often disorganized.

Beth is a nice person, but the lecture is too hard and she expects unreasonably for students to know too much prior to lecture. slides also confusing- all over the place and does not follow text book

Beth is a really funny, slightly crazy prof. That being said, her lectures are all over the play and you will find yourself going back and forth between slides when studying. Read the textbook and make your own notes. Quizzes can be tricky, exams are all multiple choice (the all answers seem right type). It is possible to do well, just READ!!!

Comment:
Beth is a fantastic person, occasionally eccentric but very engaging. To succeed, you will need to read the textbook, but she adds to her supplemental materials, referring both on the exam. As long as you are okay with a prof telling stories, scenario-based learning and good textbook comprehension, you will do just fine.
