Get ready to experience the most typical class ever - sit through a heavy lecture and then go home to teach it to yourself. But that's usually the way it goes with intro-level biology courses. Gives you notes to follow along with and lets you hand in review questions to lower the impact of the midterms, which is good bc they're not easy at all

Comment:

One of the nicest professors at TWU; however, class is very hard. 2 mid terms and 1 final, and 10% review questions combined with the midterms. He goes through the class very fast, so you pretty much have to learn by yourself later at home. He always welcomes students to his office and always ready to talk. Be close to him and he might help you.

Great guy, but the class is a bit of a killer. You will survive if you study hard throughout, but this isn't one of those 'cram at the end' kinds of classes. But he's a good prof and knows his material well. Also- beware of the labs- but don't cry if you fail every single quiz-we all do.

So you pay lots of money for this course, but it's pretty much self-teaching. Lectures are just filling blanks of the notes... You have to learn everything by yourself pretty much.

Biology 241 in general is a pretty tough course but overall the class was interesting and was helpful because the pace of the course was good. The midterms were very tough and specific, class average was pretty low as well. Not excited to take the next biology at all, since completing this class.

Bill was a fantastic teacher. He was tough, sure, but that's to be expected in a university-level course. His study guides were extremely helpful and I especially appreciated them since not every teacher bothers to develop such detailed notes for every chapter.

I had Bill Luke for a prof over 15 years ago, and I still remember what he taught me even though I don't have a career in sports & Recreation. He doesn't coddle you for a reason: Once you leave university no one gives a care about your little ego. They care about time lines and productivity.

Bill is a super nice guy, and SUPER intense with his class. He marks really hard, and he makes his test REALLY hard - be sure you know your stuff down to the finite details. But, even though he was super hard, he was still better than Pretorius...

Bill is one of the nicest professors I've ever had. He genuinely tries to help people and cares abouts students, and speaks slowly which is very helpful for this course. He gives outlines for midterms which are very helpful, but make sure you study nonetheless or you'll be in for a surprise.
