I absolutely loved Blair, he made the driest material accessible and clear. Always available to talk and really knows his stuff. If you get a chance to pick a class with him DO IT

Blair is wonderful. He really loves his job & is always there for his students. I suspect poor reviews are coming from people who never tried to reach out to him for assistance, he is literally available 24/7. His exams are open books so read & take good notes. No complaints for him.

Comment:
Balir Rutherford, although seemingly kind and caring for his students is very diffuclt to understand. Had difficulty following along in class and understanding what the context of the class was. Barely made slides, and assigned novels which were important to read as the exam was open book. Exam had nothing to do with the class. Very boring.

To start, the class material is a little dry, but Blair does a really good job at expanding and explaining terms and concepts. He's there to help when needed and easy to talk to. Easy to get good grades if you show up and do the work.

He was overall a good prof, he really put a lot of thought into his lectures. He changed it up by adding music at the beginning and a variety of movies and documentrys to watch. The Exams were pretty straightforward and there was plenty of ways to keep up your grade with assignments and reading responses. Just make sure you do the readings.

Pretty good. exam was really centered on the readings (open book = take good notes). Very nice but tends to get redundant by times.

He is a bad teacher, shouldn't be allowed to talk to a class of students. He has useless slides and often just drones on about pointless subject matter. WORST CLASS

good professor, cutie!, if you know the general terms and concepts discussed and have read the textbook (even if it's just night before studying) you'll do very well on the final!

He seems like a nice guy. I think that there was an extreme focus on the readings, on the exam, there were very specific questions. Most of the course seems a bit like common knowledge/sense, the TA's are nice, marks are fair, I would not mind having him again later on!

Also, he will literally research books for you if you email him and ask. He hooks you up!!! Don't bother reading the textbook, just make sure you know the lectures & videos REALLY WELL! so you can just skip over the readings' questions on the exam. He's really empathetic & an interesting person.

EXTREMELY helpful - replies within minutes (literally!) to emails in detail. But goes off track in class, lots of anecdotes=hard to know what's imp. GO TO CLASS- stuff from videos & lots of details needed for exams. I didn't read a page of the txtbook & got an A or A+. If you don't read the text, know lects WELL! Exam was fair, but kinda specific.

I love Blair- this is my third(and fourth) class with him and he's the nicest prof I've ever had- totally interesting, never talks down to students and will always help out anyone who needs it- he can also be surprisingly hilarious at times, and has the coolest hair and cutest voice ever

Blair is awesome, there is nothing bad to say about him. He is the most down to earth prof I have had yet. He is extremely knowledgable and experienced in what he teaches and he deserves to be a pompous ass, but he chooses not to be. He is very helpful and genuinely concerned for students. Definitely my favourite prof as of yet.
