Dr. Crowder was the only literature professor at Hendrix that showed me any kindness or encouragement. I'll never forget him for that. The annotated Shakespeare course completely changed my perspectives on the Bard. Seldom are undergraduates prepared for performance expectations. Likely the only "B" I received at that college.

Awesome professor; grades hard as hell, though. There are two tests and two papers. Take. Fricken. Notes. He tests over HIS interpretation of the poems, NOT yours. As long as you take notes like you would for any other class, you'll be fine. The one downside is you need to write well before you take the class... otherwise you'll have a hard time.

I loved it when he'd get so worked up over a line of poetry that his ever-furrowing and un-furrowing brow and wiggly toes were in complete synchronization. Excellent lecturer and one of the warmest-hearted people you'll ever meet.
