Comment:

Best prof I've had so far. EXTREMELY engaging and passionate about his field. At 85% for an A+ you can't really go wrong. Doesn't use UMLearn which means you have to go to class or make friends who take good notes, but he's very willing to go over material/answer questions in class. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for electives.

Bob is a great prof, passionate about geology, has good slides, gives enough time to make notes, but doesn't post it. Tests aren't super hard, but you have to study a lot to get a good mark and know details, plus there were only two tests per semester. Stuff from textbook isn't in tests, but I'd recommend to read it. He makes GEO interesting.

Professor is really into teaching this subject, obviously loves what he does. Be aware that his exams have the same # of marks as the percentage they are worth. ie. An exam worth 40% of your grade has 40 marks on it. Makes the class more difficult but not impossible.

Easily my favourite prof i have had at u of m. great guy, approachable, and funny! He made an already fascinating subject even more interesting. Textbook wasn't needed, though if you have an interest in historical geology, i would definitely recommend buying it. Very cool course, cool book, cool prof. nuff said.

Awesome Prof, makes class so interesting and keeps you interested in the subject with lots of pictures and makes some very funny jokes. I had him for 1440 and then changed around my schedule so i could have him again the next semester. And I'm going to take another class of his next year. I really loved this prof. His explanations are clear and his tests are extremely fair. Yes you have to study for the exams, but there are no surprises. He is very enthuastic and knowledgable.

How can you not like this man? He's so nice! I took this class purely as a science credit, as did most of the class and he knows this. Sometimes he rambles a bit with his explanations but there are never any surprises on his tests or exams. It isn't a bird course, so do the work and you'll get the grade. He isn't out to screw anyone over.

Very nice and clear...the class itself though can be pretty boring...you actually have to really like rocks. But hands down the his slide shows are the best.
