This woman has my whole heart. I took her for 309 and 334 back to back and I'm taking her next semester for 305. Her syllabus is clear and instructions are point blank. She's very understanding and accommodating to you. She's truly a gift. Her lectures are interesting and very informative 12/10 recommend.

Dr. Devet's class is pretty breezy, she makes the content more enjoyable. She was willing to meet with me and reschedule an exam for me when I needed it. There are few outside assignments but come to class and pay attention so you know what she expects!

Dr. Devet is the queen of knit sweaters. She is incredibly helpful and is involved in every part of the projects you turn in for her class. She has so much information and tries her best to make class interesting. She is such a nice lady. Her class is worth taking.

After reading Dr. Devet's reviews I was skeptical about taking her class but I am so glad I did. She is extremely helpful and has a great sense of humor. She makes a rather boring topic pretty interesting. She's really sweet and I enjoyed her class. I'm taking her again this semester.

Professor Devet is so adorable, very passionate, extremely organized, so helpful, and the sweetest, while challenging professor I have had at CofC. I loved this class mostly because of her, but it was a well prepared class that wasn't a waste of time, something quite rare at CofC. And it's easy to do well.

Devet was extremely monotoned and I think is only still teaching to promote the writing lab that she is the head of. If you go to the writing lab a lot for her class, you will do well just because you're using it. So even if you don't want to, just go for a bit so she's satisfied. Don't expect more than a B at the highest though.

Very dry material/subject. Yet Devet is a good professor. She is very helpful and sympathetic to her students. The workload is reasonable, although she loves to give writing assignments. If you are a weak writer, you will suffer since she grades rather strictly. But honestly, if you give your best, you'll do well in the class.

Dr Devet is a really hard grader, if you made As in high school don't expect much more than a -B. However, you actually do learn some stuff in her class. If you have a high tolerance for strange teachers that give a lot of busy work and try to force you into the writing lab (which typically lowers your grade) take her.

Expects a lot from her students, and wants them to do well. She is not an easy grader. Sometimes her lectures were long, with too many examples. She is very particular in how she prepares for class. Don't expect her to answer your questions first thing before she has finished setting up her documents for the class. Very easy class if you go every day and do the 1-2 hours of homework a week. She tells you exactly what she wants out of you, and the final presentation and exam were fun. I also learned a lot and it's very practical for real-life application, unlike most English classes.

To be honest taking dr devets english 110 class is the worst experience of my life. she trivially takes off points on assignments and is literally the most annoying and obnoxious woman i've ever met. i'd rather get hit by a truck than take another one of this woman's classes.

Excellent teacher. The class isn't too hard if you do all of your work on time. She's funny--I never thought I'd hear a grammar prof talk about street cred and Bentleys. She's always happy to answer any question during class and never reprimands anyone for not knowing an answer to a question.
