This was one of the most interesting classes I've taken here, but it wasn't easy. Definitely do the recitation and go to the midterm review. It helps that he's so passionate and engaging--the 50 minute lectures seemed too short!

This course is fascinating! I could listen to Busbee talk for hours because he's so animated, interesting anf Southern! (haha...by the way, he looks like Superman!)As much as I enjoyed this class, it was NOT EASY!! The 1st half is all history, but the second half is more about modern language and society. Overall, good prof/course!!!!

One of the hardest courses I have taken at UC Davis. Demands perfection, but he really cares and helps IF YOU TRY. He is very passionate and will love you if you do the recitation. Don't be discouraged by early grades, what matters is the midterm. Definitely take this course if you're teaching emphasis, you'll get out of it what you put into it.

He is passionate about Old English and it is fun to learn with him. And he is extremely sexy, kind of like a modern Tarzan. Haha. That alone would provide enough motivation for me to pass the class. I would recommend him to any girl who likes hot english professors. However I do not recommend taking a lower division class from him.

very boring class. he grades hard and leaves unclear comments on how to improve your grades. grades unfairly and is not very helpful when you do attend office hours. he is not very clear on what he looks for when he assigns papers.

He's not very helpful when he corrects papers, his comments don't explain what's actually wrong, and he's vague in certain areas about what he wants in your writing. Overall, I didn't find his grading fair or him to be very helpful.
