Tough professor, didn't care about his students, insulting to the students. First class I ever withdrew from. Couldn't deal with him all quarter, rather have 'w' and repeat with another professor.

He gives tons of reading and material so it's difficult to know what to study for tests. Lectures are hard to follow and often not related to test material. He was intimidating in the classroom.

Very hard teacher. has uncontrollable back hair and looks like cypher fromt The Matrix. Lectures are pointless and have nothing to do with the tested material.

He's the Steve Jobs of the history department, always found in a black turtleneck and can stand up and talk for over an hour without any interruption.

Extremely difficult teacher who gives a ton of reading and very difficult exams, considering it being a freshman level class. I appreciated the way he ran the course becuase if,as a freshman, you reach the work ethic his course demands, it will help you immensely as your courses become more difficult. Participate if you take him!

Dr. Hume's class was very enjoyable. He is very good at sparking conversations from students, and he makes a point to let students express their opinions without interrupting. The class is difficult, but I've learned so much in this class. Hard professor, but a great guy to learn from

Dr. Hume is a very difficult teacher for a 100 level history class. There is a ton of reading, and the exams are graded very brutally. He is a very knowledgeable professor, but this class is no joke. You need to read to have success in this class.

Ridiculous amount of work for a 100 level course, and a gen ed one at that. I came in loving history and currently hate history. Dr. Hume is a ridiculously hard grader who only gives A's "as a sign of excellence." Basically, you will get a B or lower in this class, and Hume will say it is a good grade.

TERRIBLE professor who assigns a ridiculous amount of work for a one-hundred level class. He is often rude to students who ask for help and does not explain material very well. His lectures usually don't correspond with the reading, and he's an incredibly hard grader. Dr. Hume cares less about his students than any prof I've had since coming to UD

Overall, a good professor who shows interest in his students... However, his term paper was extremely difficult, his tests, though take home, are tough, and there is a lot of reading. He's knowledgeable, but sometimes doesn't have much of a lecture/discussion planned. Just know that he's very difficult and expects high-quality work.

Worst teacher I've ever had. A lot of reading, doesn't explain class project hardly at all. Tests are take home and you get to skip one, but I'd suggest you don't. His grading gets harder and harder...

Not a fun class. Way too much work. Nice guy, but unrealistic. Gives a LOT of work two weeks before the semester ended. Do NOT take this class unless you 1.) enjoy procrastination 2.) enjoy an abundance of vague work. Or I guess if you want to devote your entire life to history, and avoid all of your other classes.
