Take the negative reviews on this page seriously. She legitimately posted over 100 papers on UMLearn for us to read and had a fit in class when we didn't read them all. I don't think she was ever pleasant again following that. She is grudge-holding, and if she doesn't like you (99% of the class) she makes it pretty clear/awkward.

Very condescending to the students, even when they have the correct answers. Prepares incredibly long and tough exams that aren't a fair representation of what you learned. It seems that she hates the students.

Definitely the worst prof in the Department of Bio. Graders were so mean and picky just like the prof. Literally the WORST NIGHTMARE of my University career. Do not take her courses if you don't have to. She is a serious and rude person. Whenever I saw her, she was with her frown and that angry face. Almost scared the sh* out of me every time.

WORST class I've ever taken. Often blunt and condescending when students ask questions/answer wrong in class. Doesn't post notes, even graphs that are difficult to copy. Labs graded harshly with sarcastic comments all over. I usually ignore bad reviews on here, but she gets poor reviews for good reason. DO NOT TAKE this class unless you have to.

The coarse material is interesting, however, Brenda Hann is not a supportive professor. Dr. Hann is very intimidating and rude to individual students; she is only supportive to those who ace her classes.

It nice when you go up and ask the professor to explain why you got this question wrong and she simply says read your notes. When there is almost nothing written to clarify why you got itwrong. Very good.

OMG! OMG!! She is definitely the worst prof Ive ever encountered! She and her graders tried everything they could to reduce our marks (Me and a couple of classmates). You can learn a lot from lectures, but thats not gonna be helpful to your exams. She never go back to slides shes done, and wont let us to take pics of the diagrams or photos....

This is my second class with Dr. Hann, and she's honestly one of my favorite profs. She is extremely passionate about what she teaches, and cares about fostering that interest in her students. Her tests are all short and long answer, and this class does have a couple of papers. I felt both the tests and papers were valuable. DO NOT SKIP CLASS.

Dr. Hann is very passionate about the source material of the course, and knows a great deal about the subject. She always makes time to talk to students about the material with students after class. She has very little patience for students who don't try, but is actually very kind once you get to know her.

Doesn't post notes online, dislikes students who does poorly, intimidating. Lectures are fine but fast paced, exams are all short/long answer. Lab reports are tough-ish. She knows what she talks about, lots of information (which is good). Gets disappointed easily on students, has RBF, decent person (she's not mean or anything). Take course only if.

Really didn't like that course bad had to take it because of my major in biology, mostly because of the way it was conducted. Dr. Hahn was harsh and rude towards me. She was condescending towards individual students like myself. I don't know why she is allowed to teach. She should do research only.

tough course however she was pretty clear / obvious about the long answers on the final exam. Multiple choice was three marks each... She was really passionate about the course however would most likely not take a class with her again.

There are no freebies in this course, ie. no sample exams or practice questions. Dr Hann is adamant against giving those out, but with good reason. After the first midterm, I realized the style of questions (SA,LA) she prefers, which are comparative questions about processes (either between phyla or classes), not trivial stuff.

Dr. Hann is a fantastic prof. Her exams can be difficult, however if you understand the material, they are easy. This is not a memorization class. You have to work for a good grade as you SHOULD in university. She is excited about what she teaches, and her lectures are easy to listen to. Probably the best professor of my university career.

Dr. Hann will be by far one of the most intelligent, difficult, and highly passionate professor in her field. Indeed her exams are quite difficult, but they're designed for students to grasp an understanding of the knowledge rather than pathetically memorizing (as most children expect university to be). There are no other professors like her.
