Terrible professor. Does not teach well, and expects you to learn the subject yourself. If you go to her for help, she says there is no extra ways you can study for the class. I am normally an A student, and barely passed her class. I would not take her again. I'm glad she left to go to the Frisco campus. Good riddance.

I'm in the linked course, so this class is TECM 4250 & TECM 4190. Dr. Sims pushes you to do your best, which I respect and appreciate, but if there are problems you have that you bring to her she will blame you for not working hard enough or not doing enough. Our client project sucks this semester and its worth 55% of your grade for two classes.

Expect to attend every class and spend much time outside of class. Hard course but one of the best learning experiences. Has favorites. Do not goof off in class. Get on her good side by paying attention, answering questions, and showing her respect. First exams are challenging. Study. Projects are tough.

You work a lot and she likes to change her mind about what you are supposed to be doing. You are supposed to do something this way one day, and that way the next. The combined class for Tech writing is miserable, though a good resume filler. She always interrupts you and insists on always being right. I got an A but needed a stiff drink after class

Dr. Sims has a lot to offer but the course that combines ENGL 4180 and ENGL 4250 is awful. This class basically entails working with a business in Dallas, run specifically by a young HR woman on a power trip. The whole course is group work-1 major project worth 70%; the amount of stress is phenomenal. The only good thing about it is résumé filler.

She comes off as agressive but she's just straightforward and loud-spoken. She knows what she's doing. I went into the class, terrified, but she's much better than I expected! She has superb patience and is more than willing to help you out with problems you may have. Good teacher to take.

Dr. Sims gives students a realistic view of the real world with challenging deadlines and high standards. She cares about students and will work with those who care about their work. No pampering here--she pushes her students, and most of us would say we accomplished more than we thought possible!

Very hard-nosed and plays favorites. She is interested in preparing students for the business world, but she does not provide a very rigorous academic education. Has strong opinions of her own and is not interested in yours, so whatever you do, don't contribute any.

Dr. Sims teaches with "tough love." She tries to challenge her students, although some students may think she runs class like boot camp. One tip: If you need help on a project, let her know ahead of time and before the due date for the project. If you work hard, she will help you.

She may come off rude at first, but it is simply her personality style. She is blunt, sarcastic, and can prepared me for the business world better than any other prof. Her book is a must have for writing any and most business documents. Her standards aloud me NO SLEEP for four weeks during the summer but the most rewarding B ive ever earned. 2/4 group members for final 150 pg project bailed (nvr any work) she worked closely to teach me conflict resolution and was understanding of the situation. worth the $
