If you can find a different professor I would recommend it. The feedback recieved on assignments is not very clear and her marking is inconsistent. This class is passable and there aren't many assignments but be prepared to do a lot of reviewing as the in class "teaching" is not done very well.

Brenda doesn't give out tons of work and the load is manageable. But, if you can avoid her, I would highly recommend it. Our class was only twice a week, and was supposed to run just under 2 hours. Brenda would speed through the slides, and class would be done in an hour. She didn't really care about the class or spend time answering questions.

Our original professor for this class missed about a month because she was very sick. Brenda subbed for her on quite a few classes. Wow, Brenda is a terrible teacher. She didn't teach us anything that was in our outline for the course. Once our prof returned and gave us the final, none of us had any idea what was on it.. Super moody and rude!

Not a good professor at all... Did not seem interested on anything she taught us, was extremely unfair when marking assignments or tests, and she cancelled some classes on us without notice ahead of time. She doesn't teach many classes to begin with, but I would advise you to stay away from her classes. FYI, she also runs the Journalism Department

Brenda was a great first year English teacher. She teaches you essentials and what will be valuable for your future studies. If you put in an effort and listen to her guidelines, the class will be a breeze. I was intimidated to go to her class after reading some of these postings, but it turns out she's not as bad as the comments. Giver a chance !

Hers mood vary quite a lot, definately plays favorites (luckily she liked me). Relies a lot on Ppt slides, but learned a lot about how to create -good- reports, presentations, memos and letters. Also left with more confidence in oral presentations. I would recommend, just pay attention in class!
