LOOOOVE HIM! SO NICE&FUNNY. Advice for his STATS class: do any/all extra credit. See him during office hours when confused (not a tutor, him. Will save your life). Get 100% on online homework (unlimited attempts). Tests are not cumulative so if you bomb one just forget everything and study hard on the new stuff. Must buy calculator he recommends!

Monte is one of the best math teachers at IVC! There is no question as to why his classes fill up so quick. Took this prerequisite class on recommendation from my counselor & now I am taking his stats class next semester. He can be kind of all over the place but he is amazing and will help you succeed.

Really chill guy. You don't have to show to to class but I recommend it because he will let you use notes on the tests and he gives hints on what ?s are on them so write it down! Do online hw, worth a lot of points. drops lowest grade. Study and you'll get an A.

Math is my least favorite subject but Professor Monte makes it fun! He's a really great guy, very clear and helpful and his exams are open book or open note! Not to mention he isn't heavy on homework and gives you until the day of the exam to turn it in anyway. He's great I took him twice!

While Professor Monte clearly knows the material & is engaging, exams & homework did not completely reflect lectures. The online homework on Sapling was confusing both for him & some students, & some of the questions & format on exams were different than what was covered in class. I would only recommend this class if stats comes easily to you.

Comment:

Midterm and Final worth a total of 60% of your grade and homework is worth 40%. No tricks to taking this class, do your homework on time and make sure you understand it. The exams exactly reflect the homework so if you do the homework you've seen the exam questions before. 10/10 professor, I wouldn't pass a math class without him.

I took Professor Monte for online stats. The assignments consisted of online homework for 12 chapters, a midterm, and a final. The concepts were not too difficult and the exams contained questions similar to the homework, making it easier to study. As long as you stay on track and study the homework problems, you can easily get an A. Great prof!

This was by far one of the best math teachers I've ever had, his tests are multiple choice for pre-stats and he's very clear with his requirement. if you do the homework you WILL pass the exams! He's also really good at explaining things clearly!

Had professor monte twice. Amazing lectures, really good at explaining and making sure you understand it. Really sets you up to do well in the class. No bull. 5 exams and drops the lowest grade.

First few tests were tough but once he started making his own, they clearly reflected what we did in class. Also an online homework portion of your grade done through a program called Sapling that was unnecessarily complicated. Tests are open-notes and if you do well on the first 4, you don't have to take the final (drops lowest test score OR hw).

really funny and he'll explain everything really clearly if you don't understand. class is just going through example problems from the book together on the board. he lets you drop your lowest test, so you're graded on 4 tests and homework.

Professor Monte is the best teacher I've ever had. He explains his the mathematics from his courses in a way that is going to actually be applied in the world of business. His teachings are easy to apply to real world situations. Great sense of humor too!

Great personality. Very clear and easy to understand during his lectures. He usually goes over HW for the first half of class. Do the hw (optional and not for credit) because you'll see those problems on the exam. It's also his study guide. He gives a lot of partial points on exams. Exams are pretty easy. Doesn't drop exams but replaces 1 w/ final

Took Prof Monte this fall. He is a great guy and knows a lot about math. The problem I think is that your grade is based on only the tests and he drops one if you score higher on the final is higher. I am not a good test taker and this class really challenged me. Take him if you are a good test taker because if you're not then you will have problem
