Dr. Charette is incredible. He truly cares about his students and wants them to become better leaders. He is a tough grader and is very specific about what he wants from assignments. Highly recommend getting to know him. The class itself is super difficult but you learn so much.

Comment:

Charette is the best professor I've ever had. He really cares for his students and really prioritizes his class. He answers emails really quickly but doesn't have office hours, although I really never needed to meet with him outside of class. The assignments are a little repetitive but he has some fun ones too so it's not bad. I really enjoyed it.

Hes an amazing guy and gets you excited about leadership! However, he expects a lot from you and is a tough grader on written assignments. Participation matters and it is a big portion of the grade so make sure you talk in class a lot. Also, he offers extra credit and make sure you do it because that will help your grade a lot!

Dr. Charette is intense and amazing. He has high expectations and you'll learn a ton from him. He made all of us strive for the A and he truly cares about the students & bringing them the best experience possible. He cares so much about the content and course & it's the best class I'll ever take at JMU. DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!

I took Dr Charete 5 years ago and wrote a bad review on here because he gave me a B. Now that I'm in the real world, I know he's the best prof I had at JMU. What he taught me I actually use. Take him, work hard and stop complaining. Love him.

This teacher grades way too hard. The class is meant to be easy and he makes it so much harder than it is supposed to be. Although you learn a lot, the amount of work you put into this class is not reflected on the grade you get. You will be disappointed. Do not take him if you want your GPA to remain high and want to get into 300.

Dr. Charette is very particular, but also very knowledgeable. The class is very interesting and he uses a lot of movie scenes to explain and talk about interpersonal skills/conflict. Tough grader for both individual and group writing assignments, but makes his guidelines very clear. No tests, just quizzes. A wonderful guy, I enjoyed the class.

He's a nice guy, but the problem is that he is an administrator. He teaches the class well, but he does not assign assignments well. He gives no feedback and the class is a constant state of confusion of what he really wants. It's hard to do well just because he absolutely tears apart the assignments and your grade will suffer. Take him! he loves what he is teaching. His class is challenging at times. Quizzes, no tests. Offers extra credit. uses great examples that are easy to understand. You have to be ready for a lot of work though.

Take him!!! He makes class entertaining and fun. No tests, just reading quizzes; extra credit; participation; and group work. Yeah, it's more work than the other teachers but TOTALLY worth it. He is the best professor I've ever had. He has an administrative job with JMU and just teaches 2 classes because he enjoys the students. Great experience

This class is the most fun a COB 202 class could really be. A lot of group activities that teach you a lot and are really interesting and fun. Two group presentations and 8 quizzes. Its a tough class but its you won't regret taking Charette

TAKE ANY OTHER PROFESSOR FOR 202! Charette seems like an okay guy, but his grading is ridiculous. I've read every bit of material and still I don't know where he gets some of his questions from. 202 is supposed to be a GPA booster, but he wants you to know the textbook and a book THAT NO OTHER PROFESSOR REQUIRES back and forth which isNOT possible!

Here's the deal on him. He's a great guy and probably one of the best pure teachers ive ever had. But his expectations for this class are wayyy too high. Take any other 202 prof for an easier class an A. Take him for something else.
