I took two courses from Dr. Cupples: Logic and Bioethics. I really wanted to take both classes as I have a minor in philosophy. I had a difficult time getting into his classes - they were popular. When I apporached him, he told me to not bother taking his class, it would be too difficult for me. I don't think he really likes women in his classes.

Anyone who gives this guy a bad rating must not be doing the work or trying at all with his courses. He is the nicest, most enthusiastic, approachable prof I have ever had the pleasure of taking a class with. VERY fair, will do whatever he can to help. If someone can get excited about logic at 8:30 am, then how can you not like them? GREAT GUY!

Goofy sense of humour and he plays it up so that there's never a dull moment in class. Very enthusiastic about getting students to think for themselves. Be ready to take a lot of notes and to spend some time thinking about the readings and you'll do ok.

It's not that he's not an easy marker just MAKE SURE YOU AGREE WITH HIM, or you won't do well. In class, don't bother speaking up - even if he asks for your opinion and you give it, he'll tell you you're wrong.

Worst teacher ive ever had, and i was taught by nuns who used to strap my hands / wrists if i talked in class. ps - has no marking scheme your mark depends on if he knows you / likes you / took his meds.
