Excellent in connecting subject matter to real world examples although his marking is fairly arbitrary, for example, I participated, and engaged constructively in every class I only was awarded 80% for participation and person who does not engage at all in class received 70% just for showing up. Essayshort answer questions difficult with exams.

Metcalfe is a really nice person but isn't the greatest lecturer in the world. Having a 3 hour class was pretty brutal because course content isn't super interesting. Very helpful prof but not up on technology and very slow with getting marks back to you.

Really cool guy. He would often go off into tangents in lecture but I enjoyed that. The tests were fair and most of the q's straight from the textbook. I looked forward to this class and hope to have this prof again.

honestly a really bad prof. Class was a waste of time as all he does is go over material from the text, spending the majority of the time on diagrams from the text, horrible exam review. Leaves students feeling isolated , does not keep students interested

He NEVER follows through with anything he says he will do; He is a difficult teacher; He gets off topic ALL the time; He doesn't cover the material we are being tested on, expects us to learn it ourselves; He does not state what he wants; He has no perception of time...said prez was over time limit yet they were under; AVOID HAVING HIM COMPLETELY!

Perfect example of someone who hates his job. This guy has seen the world over, but is not able to make his class interesting. His midterms were hard and he gave absolutely no feedback. I e-mailed him several times to no avail. Made the class very boring and did not make any attempts to help anyone in class.
