Brian has been my favourite professor since the first day of school! He's smart, funny, resourceful, and friendly. He definitely is a hard marker, but he gives clear feedback to help you improve. To ace his courses, you need to do your homework, think outside the box, be willing to reassess your core beliefs, and perhaps change them ))

Hard. Hard. Hard. But he's a cool guy. He is not gonna let you walk away without sweating. Many people fail because they don't read and ask questions I could have been one of them. I did not finish with the best mark but i surely did pass the GPA killer's class

Brian can come off as arrogant and condescending, but realistically he just has little patience for redundancy. He hates to repeat himself, and values students who listen and engage with the course material. He has a dry sense of humour, so just take it with a light heart, take his constructive criticsm and you will do well. Overall, he is great.

I think it's the content that's my issue more than the teacher. However, as a combination, it's a complete NO. Needs to be more open-minded, merge reality with such man made of ancient times theories, and be more clear on explaining material and what is required. Dull and dry experience for me.

He is very easy going and just relaxed, a perfect professor for teaching the very complicated 'critical thinking' course. He made things so much more easier to understand and get. Just make sure you are keeping up with him in lectures, that way you would not just have to depend on the whooooleeee lot of reading in the course.

He makes you work for the grade, but is a great prof and covers awesome material. The skills you pick up due to his "nitpickiness" are essential college and university, so while it may seem exaggerated when you're in his course, you'll definitely value the skills later on.

I took this course as an elective and its one of the only textbooks Ive kept! You need to do the readings before class or you will miss things. Take notes, highlight sections, use sticky notes, pay attention. Lots of people drop out in the first week because its not an easy subject. He will explain more if you just ask him.

I never use the word hate towards anyone, but I really do HATE HIM!!!!!!! He thinks way too much of himself and he treats people as if they are lower than him. He probably goes on here and rates himself as a good proff, but he is NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you love yourself, DO NOT take his class!!!!!!!!!

People complain that he's a hard marker but you can't expect to go through a critical thinking course if you don't come to class or do the readings. Read his guidelines and maintain his expectations if you want a good mark. You will remember everything you learn in his class as his lectures are very clear and he always provides helpful handouts

tough grader! but really good lectures. he takes something superbly boring and tries to make it interesting. he will explain something using different methods until you understand. higher level classes with him would probably be more interesting. ykc 100 content is just really boring and dry...

Brian 'GPA Killer' Nakata is a fantastic lecturer, he's funny and he brings mundane, boring material to life. However, he is an extremely tough marker and he nitpicks. He can be condescending and in terms of helpfulness he has the tendency to come off as arrogant. Overall, I'd avoid his class if I were you. However, there are the few who do well.

One of the best profs in Newnham LAT program. He doesn't let mediocrity slip. Though that may frustrate some, you will thank him in the future. For tests, he shows you sample questions and how to answer it. For students wanting to learn + try their best, take his class. For those that just want to "pass" with little effort, avoid him.

Brian is amazing, no doubt. He is quite a tough marker, has a lot of haters for it students who didn't do well in his classes obviously and I see why he can come off as arrogant, but maybe it's just confidence. It takes a lot to get a good mark, but being in his class will make you a better student. One of the best professors I've had for sure.

Brian is an amazing prof. Probably the best prof I've had at Seneca. The information that he provides is extremely informative and interesting. However that being said, he is a tough marker and does require you to work for your grades, though this is like how any prof should be...

Such a character. Brian is an exceptional professor, a brilliant lecturer, poised, funny at times, but like most will say: a very hard marker. I didn't do so well in his class, but I can still say he's one of the greatest professors I've ever had. IMO the obvious passion for what he teaches is what makes him so admirable. Really nice guy as well :)
