Comment:
Nice person, good teacher. He uses a manager approach to teaching, likely because of his past work experience and that is not a bad thing. Spends lot of time on the QA side of coding and, again, not a bad thing. Knows Java. If I have to mention a defect, he is just too loghorreic, but with a cute UK accent.

Cannot teach at all. Spends more time giving us lectures and insulting us on how we submitted our assignments wrong. Should be fired. Gives us code and says "you could experiment and try another way of doing this but you will eventually realize that my code is in fact the RIGHT way of doing this and you will be wasting your time." Who says that?

Well, he's a nice guy. This course is pretty much a class on how to write smelly, deprecated code. He mars everything with a case sensitive shell script, and his project specs are littered with typos so there is a high chance of what you handed in not passing. And don't even think about emailing him, he probably wont respond. Ever. Easy-ish course

Don't bother ... he is good in everything but teaching , specially coding .. old school , a lot of out of subjects and booooring voice tone. if there is 0 for rating , 3 of them would be 0

He is a great professor for students who want to work in software industry. But if you just want to pass Java then he is not the one you will like. He is strict about how students submit their assignments and labs, and the labs that he gives us is challenging. If you are good in his lab and assignments then you will do well in the industry.

This one is absolutely useless as a teacher. Instead of hands-on experience you need for doing his labs and assignments, he gives a lot of useless abstract talk every single class - lab or lecture. he. should. be. fired. period.

Fail! This guy is the definition of bad teacher. The grading system sucks. He doesn't read the assignments or labs, just runs them through a Linux program. Even then, you don't get feedback for weeks.

so talkative person, mention a lot of useless things, not clear about commands he wrote , expect all of us to memorize his very EXACT words in codes and his exams is just (fill in the blanks) of his codes.not helpful at all ... you will find your self lost so many labs' marks before you know.

When you are enrolling in a Java class and you see Brian Perry heres what you do: 1. Choose another prof. 2. If thats not possible enroll in the evening class, they have the same code, you get same credit and it is osap eligible. 3. If that not possible, God help you because even if you were an A student, he will easily fail you.

He has a tendency to go off rambling like Grandpa Simpson. "Back in my day, integers went from 1 to 20 and we liked it! None of this zero nonsense!" Stuff like that. His lab and assignment descriptions are vague and often contradictory.

Avoid this guy if you want to learn Java and pass the course. There are evening courses that are equivalent to day time courses and usually they have different teachers.

He is a nice guy but doesn't know how to teach. I am so angry with him. Looking for a private tutor to decode his labs and lectures. Repeats himself like 3 or 4 times. "This function returns an integer. What I mean is that when you call this function it will return a number, in other words when this function executes the code the result is an int"

I found Professor Perry one of the most reasonable ones at Seneca. He wants students to strictly follow his way of programming. But as far as deadlines are concerned he is reasonable and flexible. He is neither easy nor hard. He is usually late and routinely struggles with his laptop but he does not give students hard time.No surprises in exams.

the guy never returned any assignment marks. no feedback from them at all. the only thing you get is the midterm mark and labs. every time it's the same excuse, "i marked them, they are on my desk". i feel sorry for the future students who have to deal with him. he leaves class for 30 minutes at a time and says "I'll be right back".

good guy but he takes long to get to the point, his classes are boring and he usually carries on about one thing really long. he is usually in and out of class and not too clear on whats going on, he dumbs down his lectures and assumes you know nothing so you end up having lectures covering basic topics (and he looks like Austin Power's father)
