FAR is really hard but his lecture notes really do help explain everything. Homework isn't super relevant to the exams, and it is really time consuming. If you can memorize everything in his packets, you can make an A.

Billings is a great professor. He does a great job of breaking the material down and explaining it well to students. His homework is challenging, but prepares you for his test. Getting a B is very attainable in his class if you go to lectures.

Took the ACG4201 class to fulfill the MACC version. I thought the class was easy. You'd need to study though. Try to get all 40 points on the cash flow statement project - not difficult, but has a couple tricky entries you would need to be aware of. Homework a bit time consuming - try to get all the points there as well. Tests are much easier.

Billings was a great professor. He's very fair when it comes to testing. The exams are usually 40% extended response, 60% MC but the ER should not scare you. He's funny and really knows how to teach the material. I went to most classes and studied the note packets only.

Bruce is a great teacher, and and truly wants his students to do well. Make sure to attend early classes, as a cash flow project is a significant part of your grade. While the book is helpful, if not necessary for practice problems, test material comes directly from what is in his lecture notes (print-out packets with blanks to be filled in)

I took Billings for FAR 3 over a 6 week summer term & it was the greatest choice I could have made. FAR 3 is a tough course but he was very understanding of our course load & did his best to help as much as he could. Tests were tough, but put in the study hours & you will be fine. Go to office hours, he's always willing to help. Highly recommend.

Great professor. Best accounting professor I have taken at FSU so far. FAR3 material is not easy with consolidations, equity method and currency translations. Billings makes the material very clear to understand. That said, you have to study hard to do well. My advice is know HOW TO DO the notes & book problems and you will be fine.

Class overall is an easy A if you study how he recommends and make sure to do well on his homeworks (8% grade) and project (11%). Study his notes like the gospel; he snags all his conceptual questions from it. Beyond that, just do all the homeworks a few times. His homeworks are MUCH harder than tests. I had a 99% test average, but 35% homework.

In short, the class is good. The only downside is a project worth over 10% of your grade within the first couple weeks. He WILL NOT help you in any way with it. It's not terrible, but annoying. The terrible part are the homeworks. FAR more difficult than any test. I averaged 20% on HWs and 96% on tests. Really easy way to lose an A...

Billings is a good guy. I had Bathke for FAR2 and Billings teaching style is completely different. D on first test but after I knew how the tests were (study target packet for days) got 100 on the last 2 tests. Good guy and teacher, and cares about his students. Hard class but its called ADVANCED fin acctg for a reason. Would take again for sure

Started off rough, did awful on first exam, did not study enough. So kicked it in gear for second and third exam and saw that he is hard but fair! The material is covered in the book so read the book to UNDERSTAND. Memorizing will not help. Homework is hard and tricky but project pulls up grade. Best teacher I have had in accounting far none! haha

Hard tests, easy quizzes. Professor doesn't always explain things clearly but is willing to answer questions. Boring class and made me realize accounting isn't for me!

Class is hard and Billings doesn't help. Very boring in class while presenting the subject material. I know the stuff can be a little dry but come on, have some energy! Tests are a beast, but billings doesn't help the matter. Unfriendly and not helpful.

Easily the best professor I've ever had. His tests are really hard, but very fair. If you do all the homework problems he assigns and understand them, you'll come out with an A. The test questions are never a surprise. Extremely knowledgable and very willing to spend time out of class.

Billings is a good professor, very smart guy, knows his stuff for sure. Downside is he is not there to make the class easy in any way, that means absolutely no extra credit, no curve, etc. Grade is 90% based off your tests. Material can be difficult and very involved but he will try his best to help you. Quality teacher, hard class.

Bruce is fantastic! I'd say print off the outlines ahead of time for sure. Reading the book isn't really necessary, but buy it to do the problems. The test comprehensive questions are solely about the outlines. I'd definitely recommend him.

Billings is the best professor I've had at fsu! Class is extremely difficult but he makes it bearable. Exams require A LOT of studying, reread the outlines and DO THE HW (not mandatory). Attendance is not required but you should go, Billings tries hard to make it interesting. He's very helpful but makes you earn every point. Great prof!

He is a great professor, very friendly too! He teaches in a very clear and concise manner, easy to follow. I would DEFINITELY encourage going to class! Also DO THE HOMEWORK! He gives quizzes (not pop) directly from the homework. Easy boost to your grade. It's a difficult class but manageable if you are willing to put in the effort and study.
