Comment:

Teaches you how to think and build an engineering rational. He is one of a kind, very practical, smart and knows exactly what he is doing. He does help big time in the research if doing graduate studies. I got a job in RF engineering thanks to the knowledge he transferred to me in microwave engineering. using his rational technique you can excel

Comment:

Dr. Colpitts is quirky with his mannerisms. His notes in class are basically a summary of the textbook. You'll get tested on applying the ideas but all the coursework uses MATLAB which abstracts the ideas. Often, he would stop the class until people would respond to the questions he asked.

Provides everything you need, and highlights what is important. Personally I like his sense of humour, although it's not really a popular opinion. Lectures are heavy with derivations. There are no curveballs on the tests; you will always know what to expect.

his course is like survival of the fitness but its not rocket appliances at the end of the day just study the old tests and you can get two birds stoned at once. tests were easy but the final is all denial and error. thought it would be easy but it was like a tropical earthquake or whatever its called

Dr. Colpitts can be difficult to talk to and is not easy to seek extra help from. His tests were very simple and the assignments/labs were easy A's. Unfortunately, he did make his final quite difficult. It was heavily based on lab work. There's no point in buying the book either.

Best prof in ECE at UNB. Very fair on tests and assignments, provides adequate formula sheets for tests and exam. He is hilarious with his mannerisms.

He tries to be funny, but isn't. The material is simple but tricky, as everything is based on something else. The nuances are hard to master. The textbook is misleading, as it seems to teach everything from scratch. The labs were unorganized (might just be this year), and range from trivially easy to impossible to get usable data. Inconsistant.

Abyssmal! Unwilling to help. Superiority complex. NOT ONE STUDENT IN MY CLASS PASSED HIS MIDTERM! And he did NOT scale it. Gives very fair Finals though. But the he makes the class painful! He admitted to making the material as difficult as possible to our class. He has the personality of a dial-tone. Like Agent Smith from the Matrix. Bad Prof!
