Don't take this class. I heard it was an easy class, so I took it. He just stands at the whiteboard every class writing equations on the board without explaining them. The homework isn't too hard, but the grading was really harsh and makes no sense. A lot of people were shocked at how badly they did when final grades came out. You've been warned.

If you are one of those students who want to take a course where what you're learning is explained, then this teacher is not for you. He does not explain the notes written in class, he doesn't clearly answer questions, and the exams do not relate to what he reviews in class. Do not take for an easy A, take something that you will enjoy instead.

If you are looking for an easy 100 class, this is for sure the one to take. He is very boring, but the class is not hard. Its annoying because he wont answer questions clearly and has no explanation for anything he says or how he grades.

Where are all these "funny and helpful" reviews coming from? He must've mellowed out over the years; took ENGIN100 w/ him several years ago, emailed him a question about the material before an exam, and he writes back: "didn't you go to the review session?" No mention of how to figure the crap out. Pretty chill, just grumpy and arrogant at times.

He's a cute old man. I thought his lectures were boring and he had a monotone voice but his class was fairly easy and he's very laid back. He cancels class a lot and it's usually not even necessary to attend lecture. I highly recommend this class for all incoming freshman who don't want to take a rigorous engineering section.

I would recommend this section of Engineering 100. Karnopp is a good guy, but lectures can be really boring. He is very willing to help students outside of class. Just make sure you don't get Mimi as your discussion leader!

Take this class when it is offered! He is really funny guy and very willing to help students out. The term-long projects can be tough but if you go to his office hours you'll get lots of help! I didn't take physics so I could take this and I don't regret it at all. It made me want to be an engineer again.

Its worth it to work your schedule around taking this class with him. I also recommend going to visit him at his office- he can be very entertaining and he'll help a LOT on your projects. In general in that class, use office hours and you'll do much better.

the best ever. He is so funny. and I actually learned a lot from him. GO TO HIS OFFICE (he'll meet you by appointment) and he'll show you all sorts of cool stuff and help clarify your projectHe is retired, but still teaches one sectoin of eng 100, in the winter. TAKE IT. schedule around it!
