He revels in controversy, but legitimately provides a contrarian counterbalance on many issues. His "Socratic" method does force you to engage with the material, though it can at times be derailed by some over-active students (which he could do a better job policing against). More clarity of what he is looking for in an exam would also be helpful.

His in class skills are the best I have ever seen. He leads discussion and lets the student body as a group come to answers rather than just pure lecturing. Basically, a stress free socratic method. I had him for torts and property and possibly the best teacher I have ever had.

Best professor I've had. Amazing speaker. Uses the Socratic method and by a series of questions and illustrations makes the student make the final inference. Always prepared. Most of the times he brings funny stuff related to the topic to class, like a gift wrapped box when teaching gifts. Very inspirational and teaches how to think critically.

Mild arrogance is justifiable - he is in fact a hottie with a good brain. Pardy is also a truly gifted teacher. Two big thumbs up!

He's funny, and really engaging! One of the better profs at Queen's. He's a tough arguer - one of those profs that will always twist your point to mess you up.....in short - a great law prof! In general (not a class thing) he needs to ease up on the whole "academic freedom" idea.

Distractingly hot. I completely trust his teaching style: I know I'm learning a lot. However I don't think he's as adept a practioner of the socratic method as he might think. Have not detected the oft-mentioned arrogance.

All of the other comments are true. He is an excellent teacher who makes you think, is totally arrogant, in other words embodies extremes of various attributes. Luckily, his positive qualities far outweigh the negative in regards to educational skills.
