he is an awesome prof....he gives out a lot of hints and if the majority of the class gets a question wrong, he'll make it a bonus (that's why many ppl's average was above 100%)....he is a super awesome prof, even though some of his lectures may be a bit unclear!!!!!

This prof rules! The midterm/final exam were mainly made up of questions from the assignments! He also gives you hints for the assignment questions as well! This is as easy as it gets for a math course at UW. In fact, it was my highest math mark throughout 4 yrs of math at UW!

I don't know see what all the negative reviews are about. His class is as good as it is going to get for any math course. Exams are practically identical to the assignments, and hints are provided for every assignment question. He is also very helpful during his office hours. Any class where the mid-term average is 85% is just fine by me :-)!

Don't listen to these people, do NOT skip class! That's where he gives out all the hints for assignments/exams! If you can do his examples the course work is very straight foreward. His exams are very fair. Wicked prof if you're not incompetant and are capable of cracking open a textbook once and a while for his sometimes not so clear lectures.

A positively delightful man. Although, perhaps his better teaching days are behind him. He seems so happy and at peace, when I'm his age, I hope I can earn his salary, and be as ignorantly blissful. In terms of learning, better read the text.

Made me want to shoot myself. Please just buy Trim and learn from the book. Don't bother going to class. He would confuse himself while solving problems and then give up halfway through. He made so many mistakes that it was impossible to follow along. Just retire!!

BRUTAL. Seemed like he was solving the example problems for the first time each class. I have never seen one man mix up cos and sin or y and x and 1/x etc. more often than him. For what it's worth, he's a very friendly man... but so is Santa, and at least you will get something from Santa.

Wonderful and helpful man. Really cares about students, but doesnt know how to teach at all. His lectures are more frustrating than anything, but its good to go, he gives out lots of hints for assignments and exams. Really nice man.

Lectures are a waste of time, takes all class for one example and writes 3 words per board. He talks to the board instead of to the class. He also has tendancies to forget what he taught so there's some overlap from previous days. Smart, but bad prof.
