Bro. Satterfield is a great guy but not a great teacher. His class is filled with personal stories and hardly any real learning. He has his own website. He is constantly changing the assignments and syllabus so you can not get ahead. Everything is due in class and he does not respond to email. Honestly I struggled to make it to this class.

He blew my mind with his knowledge of scripture. FDREL 327 is the perfect temple prep class to take on campus by far and Professor Satterfield is the best one to teach it!

Sadly, Brother Satterfield doesn't seem to know how to cater towards real learning. The only part of the class that I liked were the lectures, but it still would be much better if there was more student involvement. And the homework is awful. You literally regurgitate what was on the reading. I don't feel like I learned anything from his class.

This was a very disappointing class even a few weeks in. The only fulfilling part were the lectures, but even still I wish there was more student involvement. In addition, the homework is awful! The reading and writing assignments are due EVERY class and then some. It's like reading an essay and writing a summary of it for every class. Not worth it

I was excited to take this course, but within the first couple of weeks, I had no desire to continue coming. He made it a struggle to want to come. He would go off on tangents, and sometimes we would not even get to the lesson. There was lots of homework. He was unorganized and scattered. I love religion, but he made it my least favorite class.

Hes older, but hes a really nice guy. He lectures the entire class but goes off on these random tangents. Fairly generous grader though.

Bruce is a smart, funny guy. He has some back problems that give him difficulties but I learned so much from him. He truly understands deep concepts and never spoke a mean word in class. He gets off topic sometimes but I still learn a lot on those days. I highly recommend him. The class is not difficult if you do the work.

Homework is constant. It is so hard to pay attention in his class. He answers his own questions before anyone can raise a hand. He goes on tangents but not any good ones to listen to. The final is insane. You have a course review paper where you have to write 2 content filled paragraph minimum of 10 keys and a course collection paper. Good luck.

Taking this class will be a test of pactience. He is constantly changing his class and doesn't have a set syllabus. He has too much knowledge and doesn't know how to simplify it so that we can really understand what he is trying to teach.

Out of class, the only homework we have is to read a chapter in the textbook and write one sentence per paragraph in summary. That's where you learn the meat of the material. In class, he lectures and allows you to feel the spirit and understand from a spiritual perspective the things you studied on your own. I look forward to his class every day.

Brother Satterfield is a really nice guy and he's funny. He doesn't ask for student interaction though, and all of the reading assignments are written by him and contain his speculations and opinions. It was an easy A but I did not enjoy the class and having to read and write about what he thought was important about the gospel.

His daily write-ups are repetitive, and often tedious busy-work. Some topics of the gospel we focus on go a little too deep or are just too informational. He goes on tangents a lot. The further studies assignments are also just major busy work, and the final essay is a giant. The class did not build my testimony, which I was looking forward to. :(

You're required to do a write-up every class, but it doesn't take too much time and basically you just copy and paste your work from your write-ups and turn it in for your final. He KNOWS the scriptures. He's opened my mind to the Gospel in a new way, and really knows what he's talking about. I would take every class I can from him.

Probably my favorite professor so far, his class is super easy, he is so nice and funny, and I just learned a lot overall. The assignments are just graded on completion and you only need to write a paper on the content you've learned in the course as your final grade.

Had Brother Satterfield my first semester. Super great teacher! I loved going to his classes and always enjoyed his incredibly deep/spiritual lectures. A research paper due every class, though. At first, it seemed a little daunting, but the papers are really straightforward and simple. You get into the swing of things really quickly.

Brother Satterfield is an incredible guy. Very, very knowledgable when it comes to the gospel. As far as work goes, it isn't that bad. No tests! You write a paper before each class (graded very easily). Either a 500 word journal (not turned in) or a page of summary and insights (turned in but graded easily). The final is a paper on keys to marriage

Phenomenal professor. Literally the best religions professor I've had. He expounds the scriptures amazingly. You will write a lot in this class, but also learn more than you've ever expected.

I had him for a special topics class, Ancient Temples and Temple Texts. It gave him a lot of freedom to teach what he wanted, so I didn't go into it expecting to learn anything specific, but I learned so much about modern temple worship without him really ever talking about it specifically. He knows his stuff, and has a great way of imparting it.
