Through four years of math courses at IU, I have experienced many math professors. Dr. Solomon is by far the best professor I have ever had. He is crystal-clear while lecturing and turned a difficult, theoretical math class into an amazing experience. He's so passionate and makes students genuinely enjoy the material. Take his class if you can!

I had to transfer into this class late and Prof Solomon helped me so much in the process of catching up. The material and tests can be challenging, but Solomon does well at explaining it in class. I didn't have to read the book, but do the homework and go to office hours if you're having issues with any concepts because he'll definitely help.

I took Prof Solomon for M303 and I must say that he is the most crystal clear professor the IU math department offers. He communicates his expectations clearly and expects you to measure up. His courses will require you to split hairs and to think more critically than you ever had. Long story short, it's how a college class is supposed to be taught

Doesn't give examples in class leaving students to struggle on their hw and forcing them to find a tutor. When asked for help, tells students, "if you don't know how to do this, then you have a serious problem." Tests harder than hw and quizzes. I took same course in hs and had highest grade, came here and took it and almost failed.

Solomon was a very good teacher! I loved how he lets us ask questions in class and tries to clarify anything we don't understand. If I had to take another math class I would definitely try to get him as my professor.

Prof. Soloman is a nice guy, but a hard to understand professor. He gives confusing examples that are nothing like what is on the tests/webwork and his class notes were not that helpful either.

Nice guy. Digresses in lectures, doesn't always give best examples, talk about everything. Quizes not too hard. Tests thorough. Fair grader. Really loves math, very receptive at office hours. Extremely easy to understand. Good teacher overall.

Linear is a confusing subject in the first place, but he does a pretty decent job of explaining the material in class and providing some level of intuitiveness. Real nice guy who will help you outside of class. Tests are doable but you have to know everything on his "checklist" of things to know. I would recommend this teacher.

He's a good guy, but it's a hard subject. I think the other comments saying anything bad are bitter people who think they deserve better. Guess what, professors are offended when you show up to class. You think he's not helpful in front of hundreds of students, go up and tell him so that he can explain and help you. OBVIOUSLY. Grow up.
