I will be as fare as possible. He is smart, he knows his subjects very well that he teaches. But you will be laughed at for wrong answers, you will be made to feel stupid if you ask the same question twice, and he will not show you respect even if you show him respect. Not enough time given on tests since you must write a lot to justify answers.

If this is the only class you are taking in the semester or you are a math guru- go for it! Take him! But let me warn you... The guy teaches the class as if the class were mathematicians. Explanations are fast and given in a manner as if it was obvious. Very conceptual. No one asked questions because everyone was lost-- appeared to be at least.

Probably one of the hardest math classes I've ever taken and I'm good at math... He doesn't explain topics well and his tests are only 5 questions so if you don't know the material your most likely going to do bad. He doesn't review problems from the homework problems. Stay away from this teacher!!!

Professor Yoshiwara is very knowledgeable, and his lectures are interesting. HW, and exams are not difficult, However, I believe Calc II need to be span over longer period. Maybe instead of 5 hours lecture and some practice, it should be 3 Hours lecture and 6 Hours of practice, than, real understanding will be more achievable.

Professor Yoshiwara is soooo smart !!! He is a great teacher, but you really have to preview and do all the homeworks. Honestly I failed so many tests but his retests are amazing so it boosted my grade a lot AND made me understood the material. love this teacher, but not the speed of his teacher otherwise his teaching is fun! Good Luck !

By far the WORST teacher I've EVER had. He is a bitter person, stern, unapproachable, and extremely rude. He expects to be honored for his own genius while he shows no respect for others. I cannot stand his dull teaching style let alone stand him. Also, the text written by his wife is a horrendous piece of garbage: full of mistakes and of NO help.

Difficult/strict professor. However his method of teaching is good and u'll learn if u do the hw and work hard at it. He really knows his stuff well; on the other hand, he can be a jerk with his condescending attitude. He doesn't like to go over hw problems much and kind of makes u feel dumb when u ask him to (big issue). Besides that he's ok.
