To do good in this class you must attend SI. It is not required but if you go there you get tremendous help. Study from ppt first and if you dont get it then read from book. He tries to help you from every possible way but you must do your part also. Do good on exam so you are safe from that hard final exam.

Dr. Christmas makes the class easy to pass. His lectures can be long and drawn out, but he really knows what he's talking about. His powerpoints help, and he's pretty tech-savvy. Make sure to get the actual i-Clicker and not the app on your phone! Chemistry is a lot of material, and the powerpoints are very long. You don't get any breaks!

Best general chemistry 1 teacher ever! He had a total of 4 exams with each exam having a cushion of 5 questions. You can make a 100 on the exam even when you miss 5 questions! Easiest class ever!!

This class is hard and confusing. The tests are timed, only 60 minutes to complete 30-35 questions, when the class is 1hr and 45 min long. None of the other classes I have taken in the past (more than 60 credit hrs) have I been timed on test (meaning that I have not been given the entire class to answer the test). Do not recommend.

Dr. Christmas is an excellent professor. He is very atypical among the other chemistry profs at UHD. He really wants you to understand the concept. You will get the concepts if you go to every class and pay attention. It is important to go to class and become familiar with the i-clicker questions you will see them on exams.

I have been educated in three continents: Europe, Australia, and the States, and Dr. Christmas is one of the best instructors I have had the opportunity to learn from. He made the class understandable, interesting, and fun. You will definitely know your chemistry when you are done with his classes.

Please, please pay attention in his class. Almost every single i-clicker question can be found on at least one quiz, if not the test. He'll sometimes go off on a tangent in class so remember to review his powerpoints beforehand because he might skip over some slides to make up lost time. Also, he's funny or at least will try to be.

If you want to take class with him then do so only if you are willing to work hard. His exams are challenging and the power points in class are barely prepare you for the exams. When you prepare for exam study the powerpoint first and then read the book and practice questions from the textbook and the ACS. If you dont understand chem then good luck

Dr.Christmas is a very interesting professor. His class is fun though, the tests were okay. the first 2 tests are math based and are very easy, the last two are heavy conceptual.(those are the hardest ones) if you do the homework you will do well in his class.

He tends to go a little fast during his lectures but as long as you read material in the textbook (before class) you should be fine. He stresses that many times. Very fair when it comes to grading and makes the class enjoyable. You can tell he eats, breathes and lives for chemistry. I would highly recommend him! TAKE HIM

One hell of a professor. He's smart, funny, and definitely keeps the class entertained. His class is not a walk in the park though. To do well, you'll need to attend class/reviews, do the homework, and study. High grades are achievable with hard work.

STAY AWAY! This professor does not prep you for his exams. I mad a C in the class should have made a B. But a departmental exam was given that we were not prepared for. It was curved but not fair. If we had an exam on the material we would have been taught would have gotten a B. Do not recommend! Stay away if all possible!!

Dr. Christmas is a good professor he really knows his stuff but the subject is very tough if you hate math mixed in with science. You have to be there early because he does start the class early. The last exam was open book which helped a lot.I received a D but only because I hate chemistry. Will retake it with the same professor. Read before class!

The lecture is powerpoint that you must print off prior to class. The animation incorporated into the presentations is coompletely distracting. Class attendance is mandated to start early and attendance is mandatory. Memorize the syllabus, there are questions from it on the test. You are on your own when it comes to actually learning this material.
