Dr. Mercer is such a good person to be around, funny at times. Attendance is mandatory, but attendance is also extra credit at the end. Gives lots of extra credit. Tests are hard though, read the textbook!

He has a total of three test comprised of 20 multiple choice questions. The questions are pulled from the textbook, the readings and random things he says in class. All together this adds up to about 20 plus pages of notes to pull from. The questions are worded poorly. The final project is very extensive. He teaches this like a 3000+ level course.

Dr. Mercer is incredibly intelligent and expects a lot from the class. He loves teaching and is very passionate about it. His tests are very difficult but if you attend lecture and do the the readings you will be fine. He also gives a ton of extra credit. Making an A in this class is possible, but be ready to work for it.

I never listened in class. He just goes on and on about random stuff. Just find you a friend go check the attendance sheet for you and show up for test and just do the Read the encyclopedia and you will pass the class easily.

I show up everyday to class and I read the book, but I still manage to fail the tests in his class. I don't understand a lot of what he says. His tests are SUPER hard.

Calvin Mercer is one of the most intelligent beings I've ever met. I don't agree with his tests due to them only being 20 questions, but if you show up to class, and study you will be fine. Lots of opportunities for extra credit, and his lectures are very interesting due to his background and knowledge of material. Good luck!

Dr. Mercer is very knowledgeable about his material, but all he does is lecture. There are a lot of opportunities for extra credit. The tests are hard, but he does give you a lot of ways to boost your grade. He asked us why we were doing badly on his tests, then was very unresponsive to the feedback we gave him. The class grew boring after a while.

HARD CLASS OMG. Read the book and you'll pass, pay attention in class and you'll pass. Just show up and you get extra credit for missing no classes. Do the Monastic Project - very easy A and very interesting. He loves his job, but my GOD the test are HARD ASF. Literally 20 questions on each test (three) and the major project is it.

Dr. Mercer has only 4 grades for this class which are 3 exams and one major project. The tests are incredibly difficult being only 20 questions. He gives an extraordinary amount of extra credit so make sure you do as much as possible! I received a D on every exam but made an A in the class with the ec. His lectures are long but informative.

Mercer is a great professor and his classes are really interesting. His tests are 20 multiple choice questions which he pulls from the textbook so the tests are really hard, but there are a lot of extra credit opportunities. For every class you skip he takes 4 points off your final grade but if you go to every class he gives you 2 points. Take him!

He has four grades for the whole semester. Three tests and a project. His tests are hard because they're only about 20 questions so if you mess up, you really mess up. His attendance policy is really strict. -4 points off of your final grade for every unexcused absence.

This guy is the most interesting man in the world. He has so many life stories that he tells during his lectures which make it very easy to relate to the material. He has been everywhere and done everything. If you take Religion, this is the guy you need to have as your professor. BTW, there are so many opportunities for extra credit.

This class can be an easy A if you just show up to class and keep up with his textbook readings. He does not teach with a powerpoint but instead just talks, so you should take NOTES. His tests are very easy. Hint: make sure to look at the questions in your textbook after the chapters (there's a good chance they will be on the exam).

There's only three tests and a project. Each is worth 25% of your final grade. The test are very hard and short. The lectures are very boring and long. He gives out extra credit and you HAVE to do it in order to pass. Great man but hard class.

This class is A LOT of work. A LOT! If you are a Christian and already have a lot of background info on the Bible under your belt, you will probably do fine. If you are like me and took this class to learn about the NT, trust me you will learn more than you ever even knew was possible to learn- but it is extra hard if all of this is new information

He takes attendance but he uses attendance as extra credit, so it doesn't lower your grade. Do the reading and don't get overwhelmed for the tests.

Make sure to go to class and take somewhat decent notes. If you do that you'll do fine. The projects and the papers due at the end of the term are a little difficult but not impossible. Look into the Monastic Project and you really get to know the guy. He is on the Greenville City Council and is a really smart dude. Extremely helpful and accessable
