Cara is an amazing teacher! She always came to class with an amazing energy which was very contagious. We had around 6 tests which aren't long at all, but you should study for them. You will also have written assignments with very specific instructions so you won't be lost; however, if you do have questions, she answers her emails regularly.

After a couple of years in Japan, I thought I'd learn Japanese properly at uni. Although Cara is a great teacher, there is WAY too much English in her classes. I wasn't expecting anyone to be fluent (I'm not) but even when it came to stuff people knew, there just seemed to be a lot of English and not much Japanese.

Cara was an excellent instructor, I thoroughly enjoyed the class and was more than happy to enroll in the second semester of Japanese. The material can be challenging at times but she always does her best to explain and even though she is busy will take time to talk to you if you need it.

I had Cara for 111 and loved her. She makes learning a lot of fun, and is willing to help you. Love the fact that she emails you back extremely fast. Her classes are interesting and are a lot of fun. I would just take her classes for the heck of it!

Cara is my favourite prof! she is so willing to help you with just about anything you need to get a better understanding of the course material. i had her in first year for japa 111 and 121, and am continuing on with her in japa 221 and now 222 this semester. if you love japanese i HIGHLY recommend taking her class. she makes it worthwhile!
