Comment:

Professor Hill was very nice and cared about her students. The course is called "life skills" and we learned about interesting/important topics such as buying a car, getting a credit card, and investments. I highly recommend the course. No texboook, no quizzes, no exams.

Comment:

I took her for Life Skills. There are no tests. There are three big papers and three projects (powerpoint along with papers with each) that you have to do . Attendance is mandatory and can have a huge impact on your grade. She is also very caring and accessible outside of class. When I was going through a difficult situation, she was understanding.

I took her online stats class and I literally spent atleast 17hrs a week only on this class. It's A LOT of work and a pretty hard subject so it took even longer to get the work done. I would take another professor. I do not recommend her class at all.

Comment:

Prof Hill is extremely fair. There is a lot of assignments but she is an easy grader so if you get them done you will do well. Let's you bring a cheat sheet to all tests and lets you do test corrections for 1/3 of the points back that you lost. Overall amazing professor!

One of the nicest professors I have ever had, but in my opinion not a good teacher. Stats is a hard class in general, and not taking it previously in high school didn't really help me much going into this class. There is an absurd amount of homework, an annoying cahoot every single class, and she goes way too fast in class to understand material

Professor Hill is a sweetheart but honestly, her class didn't make much sense. As someone who hadn't previously taken stats in high school, I often times got lucky that I could recall how to do things because she just never taught it (or didn't teach it well). I found her definitions confusing and her examples sometimes hard to follow.

She's the best!! It's a lot of work when you take stats online, I fell behind so many times to the point I had to pull several all nighters prior to finals week to catch up on the material. I was always in touch with her & letting her know what was going on & from seeing how hard I was working she did help me out in the end & I got an A :)

The hw does not match what is learned in class. The amount of HW given is cringe worthy. Kahoot is used EVERY class.

Stats is usually a difficult class to take. Lots of formulas and some confusion. At first Prof Hill was helpful but as the class moved on and things got more difficult so did she.

Taking online statistics with Carla Hill was the worst mistake I've made in my college career. She assigns an insane amount of work with very little time to complete it. The amount of work she assigns takes 10+ hours straight to complete. This class was the death of me this semester when it should have been an easy A. Do not recommend.

Unless you have some kind of statistics background or are good at learning from reading a textbook, you will need a tutor for this class. She is not consistent with her grading among students. And majority of the class fails every single exam every single time.

Lecture are extremely boring and the sound of her voice at 8 am will give you a headache. Not much help either and will attack you if you ask her questions during a test. About 18 online homeworks, a final project, projects after every chapter, forum postings, and 4 essays. Would recommend you avoid this class.

She is probably the worst Stats teacher you could take. What she teaches is no help with her homework and tests and is terrible at answering questions in class. Her online homework is extremely difficult and really screws with your grade.

If you remember Roz from 'Monster's Inc.' that is essentially Carla Hill. Her droning voice rattles around in your brain but you'll never actually retain any information. She puts her entire lessons online (it is essentially an online class that meets on campus) and if you ask her a question in class, she'll tell you to watch the video online.

I hated this class. It was an easy A but it was a long semester. Instead of learning about money, which was the topic of the class, it was basically presentation 101. We didn't learn about anything with money. She also decided to become our english teacher with papers, in which she "corrected" things that were already correct.

This first year seminar was not my first choice but was something i was sorta interested in and am really happy i was put into this one. She is extremely nice, and she lets you out early every single class, and it is not a lot of work. A couple of presentations, a couple of extremely easy papers. She is very nice and understanding... recommend!
