Very nice Professor. Always willing to help during & outside of class. Lectures are very boring & not helpful. Everything I learned was from reading the class notes. The actual textbook is useless. Online quizzes every week are annoying, but easy b/c the answers are in the class notes. DO THE LON CAPA PROBLEM SETS! Watch out for the final exam**

Had him for Stormwater and Surveying 1 & 2. Very good professor who you can learn a lot from if you put your time in. Worked for a civil engineering firm and as a survey party chief after graduating and these classes were the ones most applicable to the real word. He also has a lot of engineering ties in DE, so don't burn your bridges

Terrible teacher. Nice man, very knowledgeable about surveying, but cannot teach at all. I recieved a 31% for the first time in my history of schooling on his exam. Could not grasp what he thinks is "general knowledge". If you don't have to take it, stay away from it. Waste of time and now I can't graduate because of it! If you must, good luck

might as well call this class self taught engineering because anything you learn will be all on your own. prof. knows the material but does not know how to teach. flies through complicated math once and even when its obvious everyone is oblivious on how to solve problems offers no guidance. wish i knew what i wasted my time on all semester

This class was absolute torture. The class average for the midterm was a 50... two point curve yay! not. labs = ridiculously long, lon cappa = hell. girlish walk. Shirts often contained plaid patches. Mike Szimansky is the best lab professor, but Balascio is just plain awful. Good luck with this course.

A horrible professor, but very knowledgeable about the subject. He teaches the class as if it is a review to everyone and that we all took surveying in high school. I went to his office hours a few times and he seemed very condescending. I did not like this man at all. The lectures taught you nothing. Not that hard of a class though.

He might seem like a fairly incompetent person, but he knows what he's doing. He also, despite what others might say, doesn't have intentions to fail you. Trust me. Just do your best, complete your work on time, and don't forget to visit hsi office hours a few times. If you do that, you'll be fine. He really can be a nice professor.

The man is a bad teacher. You will learn nothing in lectures. The lab assistants teach you everything. Balascio is an ****. He takes his intro to surveying way too seriously. He demonstrates no enthusiasm during lectures and constatnly uses ridiculous technical jargon that no one can understand! SUCKY **** HEAD PROFESSOR, SHOULD BE FIRED.

Carmine is the WORST professor I have ever had. Expects more work for his 2-credit class than some 4-credit classes expect. Labs are ridiculously long, lecture is incredibly boring. This man can make the simplest ideas incomprehensibly complicated. Never ask questions, the TA knows WAY more than he ever will
