By far this professor is the worst at CMU. I had a situation that I had and she did not work with me at all during that time. I had to withdrawl because of it. If your struggling in that class I suggest you withdrawl before the deadline because you won't pass if struggling. I thought my papers were good but she's a very hard grader. AVOID HER!!!!

This teacher is downright the Communist party of English. She should be looked into by the government for possible being a relative of Hitler. Not only does she run her class like, circus, she herself could be wearing the clown hat. Also she is definitely on here posting comments about her self to make her image look better. Don?t believe them!

Completely honest here...She was absolutely BRUTAL! I personally have never encountered such confusion with complete and utter, over complication of such a straight forward subject. Her grading was to say the least, inexcusable. In a nut shell, 21 students started the class, 6 showed up on the final day to turn in their final papers! AVOID HER!

Hard grader, No help, Judges you as a person, always need your book, she will give you a good grade on your "FIRST FINAL DRAFT" but then you'll get an F on your actual final paper, then when you ask her questions as to why you go the grade you did, she will just say "a final grade is a final grade". If you get help by anyone, you'll still get an F

If you already know the ins and outs of english paper writing, then good for you, you'll do well with her. However, if you came to college to... I don't know... LEARN, then you might want to stay away from Riddle. Here favorite answer to any question is, "look it up in the book." But don't bother doing that, she's just going to mark you down.

I have never had such a terrible professor. I missed a week and half of class because I was very sick and unable to come to class. She offered no help in helping me catch up, or giving me information on present assignments. I was on my own and as a result fell behind. I heard many stories like this. She's terrible and not helpful at all!

Don't take this teacher!!! Unless you are an english major or going into journalism you probably won't finish with a C in the class. Very hard grader, a power tripper, and makes you feel stupid if you don't understand something. A research paper is all you do but it takes 16 weeks to write it. You're better off with someone other then her!!!

Very nice older lady, helpful in class. TOUGH grader, her assignments aren't very clear. Hard to contact outside of class. Entire class based on 2,500 word research paper. Must go to class to understand and hand in assignments, she sticks to syllabus all year. Better than other profs for this course, but take this class at a CC and save your $.

Professor Riddle demands excellence. That's all there is to it. If you attend class, follow her directions, and complete her assignments on time, then you'll suceed in this class. The entire class revolves around a 2500 word research paper, which I suggest you start working on about 2 months prior to the due date. She's a really nice lady.

The final in-class writing was about "the importance of the syllabus." its funny, because in the syllabus she said she would keep our grades posted on blackboard, but she didn't!! she told us what our grade was at the midterm. that's it. you're wasting your money if you take her section...

Nice lady fun class to go to, but her assignments are crap and very unclear. Research paper is near impossible, can't be creative with it at all because everything is "irrelevant" So i pretty much just typed the same sentence over and over with different numbers. 2500 words with all numbers, not fun.

I don't like her or her teaching style. It's a "learn" by trial system that has the potential to rip apart your grade. She also has the philosophy of "If you don't understand the directions: ask me." that's all well and good...except when you understand her directions, but differently than she intended. Then you're screwed.
