Clever, funny, comprehensive, capricious, unfair, inconsiderate. Recommends students take finals week off from work, the workload is so murderous. This is good advice. Class size is so big (mandatory class) that she pushes the incredibly subjective ("you don't need a grading rubric, you're in grad school") essay grades to her TA, which can cost you

I liked Prof. Rider. She was very involved and accessible. The forum discussions were interesting and with strong participation from both student and professor. She was also quite accessible and it seems like she was genuinely interested in teaching the course. There was a good deal of work but Prof. Rider is a fair grader.

I took this course (in round 2) along with MBA 660 (15 weeks). This course required between 2 and 3 times more effort than MBA 660. There were two 1000 word essays with the third having no restriction. The final is set to be 3 essays, and she recommends "If you can arrange to take some time off from work that week, it will be helpful to you..."

Worst professor ever. Besides being condescending and diminishing towards her students, she thinks she is better than her students. Half of her lectures is her yelling at us. NEVER take this professor if you don't have to.

Horribly boring class. The lectures were really dry and there's no textbook so we would get assignments based on handouts and she grades heavily.

Definitely the worst class I have taken at Marist College both as an undergrad and a graduate student. Picture having a capping paper every week. With 20-page readings every week too. Tons of work. Impossible to do as a working professional or with another course. Demands you cite every word you write. Just a lot of unnecessary assignments. Awful

What a horrible semester it has been. So many papers and readings. Just an absurd amount of work. Get ready to do a research paper legit every week. The college should seriously look at the courses that Professor Rider teaches and reconsider. The stress level and depression she causes in the amount of work she dishes out is unfathomable. AVOID

So much work expected in one 8-week course. Definitely the most demanding course I have ever taken without a doubt. Tons of readings and writings. Be ready to write in forums EVERY NIGHT and cite everything you write about in long, pointless essays. A lot of groupwork is done as well. It was an absolute nightmare. Wouldnt take with any other course

The workload for this class is unfathomable. Forums and papers do every week with EXTENSIVE research required. There is a research paper due every week. The forums you must post in nightly and ritually. It requires an incredible amount of time. More work in this class than my other 2 MBA classes combined EASILY. NOT for the working professional

Try your best to avoid her. While she's very intelligent, her classes are simply her blabbing on for the entire time, and then assigning readings that have very little to do with her lectures. Never responds to emails or helps you outside of class. You're on your own if you take her. Loves giving pop quizzes, so make sure you do the readings

She doesn't require you to get the textbook because she makes you read plenty of lengthy articles online (that you have to find by yourself). Lectures the whole class. Takes excessive amount of time to answer one question by going on pointless rants. Is always unclear with what she is going to test you on. 10/10 would never recommend to anyone.

Good teacher. Lot of work in her class though. Several short articles and videos each week, nothing overwhelming. Heavy forum participation required; class requires your attention nearly every day of the week. Several 1000-word papers assigned. Grading was not unreasonable though. Final exam is an intensive writing assignment of 3 papers.

Spends the class repeating half of what she taught you the class before, does not effectively use time, no grading criteria or outlines to help give you an idea of what she expects- did this all semester and really was just an indicator of her laziness and lack of care for the class and her students. Avoid if you can, not worth the time.

Worst professor I've ever had. Classes are miserable. There is no textbook, and she doesn't even use powerpoints. She stands in front of the class the whole time and talks about irrelevant stories. I could not tell you one thing I learned in the class. Assignments are very unclear, and her papers are a graduate school level workload

She is not a good teacher at all and expects her students to know how to do the term paper without an outline. She never gives back assignments and makes the class more difficult than it should be. I would not recommend taking her class.

She really just talks about nothing the whole class and goes on rants. I do not doubt that she has a good deal of knowledge about the information. But she does not clearly say how to do things but merely lets you figure it out for yourself.

Bases the entire course on a book about the 2008 financial crisis, so low text book cost. Extremely difficult grader, you never know what your grade is because she gives out grades like "okay, okay+ okay -" and fails 3/4 of the class on quizzes. Huge presentation ay the end of the semester in which she is extremely unclear. You're on your own.

The class itself is extremely boring, she is very hard to follow. Not too much work other than reading the text. Quizzes are very hard but you start out with a 60 on them and she adds points from there so that it is impossible to fail them. 40% final, 40% quizzes, 20% paper/presentation
