Collette is an easy grader, but you will actually want to work hard for this woman. She is so compassionate, and absolutely brilliant, making her one of the most inspiring professors I've had here. She has this smirk that she makes when someone says something stupid (student or prof), but don't be afraid to try out your academic voice with her.

Collette is sweet, good-humored, and interested in hearing discussion from her students. She is open to ideas, has the best class topics (Tolkien! Arthur! other Medieval stuff!) and covers a lot of ground with excellent reading selections. Her classes are lighthearted but enriching. You WILL enjoy her.

Prof C is a sweetheart of an intellectual, who speaks the most melodious Middle English :) B/c of her combined brilliance, humor, and humble warmth, I lived for her seminar. As an advisee, I can testify to her sincerity/concern for students’ well-being, as well her splendid listening skills.

Collette is an MHC alum, which speaks a lot for us. Her Chaucer class is awesome! The material is racy, and she speaks (and makes you speak) in an Old English kind of way. Its an experience, but a good one. =)
