He's very energetic and outgoing, which makes class interesting but can be a pain when you're trying to get a clear answer from him on something. He'll misunderstand what you say sometimes and be off on another tangent before you can correct yourself. But he's a nice guy and the class isn't too hard, he's just a bit scattered sometimes.

He's positive, interesting, and down-to-earth. Lots of students try to get him as their academic advisor. Balzer could probably make anything interesting and enjoys hearing students respond in class.

Nice guy, but I don't recommend him. Inconsistent with returning things and quizes/tests can have confusing or different formats without notice, so you never truly know how to study. Also, can be hard to understand or unclear at times. It was a lot of work for a simple class that shouldn't have been hard at all.

Everyone loves this guy and I guess he is okay, but he did not flip my waffle. He seems fake and insincere to me, only seeming to care... but not really so much. My looks perhaps put him off as I don't fit the regular JBU straightlaced mold. Academically, he is average, and with good study time you can make a good grade. The U2 love is annoying.

Dr. Balzer is great prof. He keeps class interesting and its very obvious that he enjoys what he does. He was always willing to help a student out and he was always interested in the student. Good prof!
