Comment:

Professor Moskovitz is a great teacher and really improves your writing and make you really work to get better, but grades extremely hard and really difficult to get an A. 4 real grades with random pop quizzes that are about random things in the readings. Papers usually are in the B range and some Cs.

Comment:

He is a very nice man but his class was extremely boring and unproductive. He was also not very clear on how he wanted assignments to be completed so that led to a lot of confusion outside of class. He can also can be a bit condescending at times which is extremely annoying. I wouldn't recommend this class.

He was strict about attendance and not messing around during class, but his class was unbelievably easy. There was only 4 assignments the entire semester. The final paper (which we had a month to work on) was only 3 pages

I enjoyed his class on the science of sleep. He was very straight forward and was always willing to clarify questions and give helpful feedback. However, the guidelines for the final commentary were unclear. Additionally, he was a hard grader on the final paper.

Not one of the worst writing 20s in regards to work. You have three or four big projects that you work on all semester. However, he definitely lets his opinion of people affect his judgment. Loves men. Loves engineers. If you're not one of those two (or both), it's really hard to get a good grade.

this class is an easier writing 20. i think i only had like 3 maybe 4 papers all semester. compared to a lot of other writing20 classes, that is really really good. also this class is really all about editing and peer editing. i recommend meeting with him outside of class, he likes that. this class is not creative and is somewhat dry but its easy

Make sure to schedule appointments with him to go over your writing--he'll tell you exciting how to fix your paper, it's extremely helpful. He's a harsh grader, and he picks at every single word, so basically strive for perfection. Class is boring and useless-you'll spend the entire class going over one useless detail-most boring classes in my life

This was probably one of the easiest writing 20 classes. Most of the work is done in groups and there weren't that many assignments. Revision was emphasized over the amount of writing, so it was mostly short papers written in multiple drafts. The professor was helpful at times, but lectures weren't so interesting. Grading was relatively generous.

Dr. M was one of the first profs i had at duke- i thought he was amazing. I'm not just saying that for kicks...he was incredibly knowledgable and as long as you aren't retarded and can follow directions, you can pull an A. you just have to be able to take his teachings and incorporate them in to your writing.
