She is very passionate about the material she teaches. Although sometimes the lectures can amble away from point, and sometimes things can be a bit confusing, she's an overall good prof. She loves when students show initiative and have discussions about the readings.

I ended up in Dr. Grise's class by mistake when the class I was in didn't work out. The course was scary alien to me (Visionary Women - lots of Christianity and Sci-fi in the same room). This class became my favourite class. We laughed together and what should have been mindnumbingly difficult content became stuff I wanted to read. Go Grise!

Prof. Grise is an amazing professor! I've learned so much from her and she's such a nice person as well. So approachable! If you try hard in her course, she will be very accommodating. I would definitely take a course again offered by her, if only I wasn't done this year!

Very passionate about teaching, but unfortunately her methods don't align with the modern student. Case in point: trying to break down our large lecture into smaller groups only alienates students who prefer to be lectured to. If class sizes were smaller, these ideas would work better!

Absolutely fantastic prof! I had a bit of a hard time in her class, but she is super patient, approachable and very willing to help. She helped me through writing one of my toughest essays yet. Super nice person. Take a course of her's if you get the chance!

Kind of boring and comes off a bit scatter-brained. She was repetitive, but I didn't find it helpful for the test. She is helpful, which makes me think she'd be better for a high school class (not an insult).

Much better at classics than currents, and is a bit of a favoritist. Try her Shakespeare course. Tends to synopsise plots, but gives excellent essay critique when pressed. Simply a very busy woman, but an excellent prof.

Horrible. Badly organized, a horrible lecturer, and just ruined a class that should have been amazing. You know how some profs overanalyze, but it still makes sense? She would overanalyze, but her analysis wouldn't even fit with the work we were studying. HOOOOORRRIBLE.

Took a vastly interesting subject and turned it into torture. Within the first 2 weeks many people had elected to stop attending. The remainder who still did had difficulty paying attention through cell phones, games, and things being thrown (class completely out of control). Can't blame them--hugely boring. Her marking is also remarkably unjust.

I know sci fi isn't her thing, so despite her well-planned and thorough lectures, she came off a little boring. But she has all the sweetness of a kindergarten teacher - fantastic. She tends to do a lot of plot synopsis in her lectures, which gets a bit irritating.
