I really like Catherine. She is a great lecturer, explains concepts so clearly, keeps things relevant and fresh and fun. Would take a class with her again. If you are afraid of the 500 word working papers - don't be. I've found they have helped me become a better writer.

A true role model. She is so intelligent and yet so approachable. Amazing topics and readings, with even better discussions all curated by Dr. Kellogg. One of my top three favourite professors ever. Take her class if you can, but good luck getting a seat!

Dr. Kellogg is something special. She's obviously extremely invested in the work she does and the content that she teaches. She's extremely professional and demands respect. Her classes are discussion based, and if you read and takes notes, you will be fine. I find that she tends to mark easier than professors I have had when it comes to essays.

I love Catherine. She is entertaining and has great methods to make you remember important concepts. I always left class feeling like I learned something. There was a lot of freedom with our papers, and she was accessible by email or office hours to discuss any portion of the class. I'll definitely take more courses with her.

Catherine Kellogg is a goddess among mortals. Her lectures are engaging and funny and she expects a certain level of participation (not so much in lecture, but definitely for your seminar). Course grade is made up of three 500-word papers, participation, and the final but she gives the questions in advance. Honestly one of the best professors ever!

She and her T.A. are both amazing. She knows how to succinctly explain the important stuff. She and her T.A. are accessible and the class in general have only 3 papers (500 words each) throughout the term. The class is easy if you attend class, participate a little, and attentively listen to the discussions.

Dr. Kellogg is a little disorganized and frazzled but it makes her all the more charming. I really dislike philosophy but she made it fun and I even pulled off a decent mark. The workload is manageable and the exams were fair. The mandatory seminars on Friday were a bit tedious.

Catherine changed my entire university experience. She taught me how to read and love theory. She made me a better student and writer. Be open to a different kind of teaching than most profs in the department, but you get what you give.

I got my best grade in this class and basically did zero work because she gave us the questions for the final in advance. Her lectures are useless, she's totally disorganized and unprepared. Just do the readings and hope she gives you the questions in advance.

She goes off and tangents, talks in riddles, is extremely unreliable with email, doesn't explain content well, and seminars are incredibly useless.

Catherine was extremely engaging and very helpful if you could get in to talk to her. Some slow or non-existent responses to emails, and if you like clear lectures with power point etc, this class is not for you. An excellent variety of reading, and although I had no initial interest in this class, it ended up being my favorite.

She's absolutely brilliant and has such a warm and funny personality. Lectures were clear, concise, and incredibly interesting. You have to work to earn your marks, which is the way it should be. Not anyone can make these topics interesting, but she helped me go from hating it, to looking forward to class and loving absolutely every minute of it.

Awesome course, but marking was sometimes all over the place. However, if you went and talked to her about it, she was always willing to change and adapt.
