Terrible teacher, be sure not to take her. She will bore you with her long lectures that have nothing to do with the pop quizzes that she throws out to you. Also, she doesn't insert grades and needs to retire.

Hardest class I've ever taken. She is not of a respectful type, fairly rude and talks down to students during office hours. She is a NO-TAKE. Don't take Rainwaters she will destroy your beginner's confidence as a writer. She is not a professor trying to help out students or close to that. In fact, she will do anything to crush you. Again, she is a MUST-NOT-TAKE. She is aggressive and full of hate. I say this in the most honest way. She has no teaching experience..

Avoid Rainwater at all costs. I took this class because it fit in my scedule & I would have preferred an 8am. She offers little to no assignment criteria/description of what to do, but will fail you for not using her kind of writing style. Paper grades fluctuated wildly throughout the semester & she never enetered grades. Again, avoid at all costs.

I took a required cultural foundations class with Dr. Rainwater. Although I respect her passion for the material she teaches, she was way to strict and hard with the class considering it was a required freshman studies course that applied to hardly any of our majors... 10/10 would NOT recommend.

The class started off extremely difficult, but I found it easier once we got further into the semester. Rainwater is intelligent and funny, but also extremely blunt to the point of rudeness. She grades hard and expects a lot. The class content was enjoyable and interesting, though, Rainwater's attitude was just a big shock as a freshman.

She will NOT work with you if you have a 504, or if you have an emergency or life change of some sort. She will say she is sympathetic, but refuses to help even if your absences are due to that life change or emergency. However, she makes you work for your grade and you will learn a lot if you stay on track and are always prepared for her class.

I took her for indigenous writers LLC class. Super easy if you can write papers well. If you can't she doesn't do much to help you improve. Over half the class dropped. Make sure you read the articles there are a lot of pop quizzes. She's quirky and funny which made class pretty interesting/enjoyable. She's super rude and negative though.

I admit resenting her in the beginning. She's a tough grader & doesn't sugarcoat criticism. However, she possesses comprehensive insight, which greatly informed my understanding of literature, & her feedback improved my writing dramatically. Don't be intimidated. She's extremely helpful if you reach out to her. The class was a privilege to take.

I genuinely enjoy this Professor. She's the kind of Professor one should expect in college. She is tough, clear, wonderfully knowledgeable about her subject, and gives help when you ask for it. I've spent hours in her office! She is not easy, so don't take her if you want easy classes. If you do take her and work hard then you'll grow as a student.

You might learn some of the most useless information about composition if you can sit through hours upon hours of the most monotone and uninterested sounding lecture you've ever heard. If you value a professor who is more lively then a zombie then this is not the course for you. If you like getting useful feedback on your work don't take this class

Rainwater is tough, but I've learned a lot from her. I really think I have improved as a writer in her class and really enjoyed her class. If you're really struggling she helps you out, but if you don't put any effort forth don't expect to pass. AND SHOW UP TO CLASS!!!! If you don't, she'll let you know exactly what she thinks of you.

Dr. Rainwater is genuinely a sweet lady and good teacher. BUT she is an EXTREMELY hard grader and very picky. I worked hard in her class, but she still gave me terrible grades & told me that I wasn't trying hard enough. Very hard to impress. Seriously, if you don't have a passion for writing, don't take her. It'll kill your GPA.

It genuinely makes me sad to see Prof. Rainwater has a low score. I've had her for three classes, and can say she is one of the most brilliant teachers I have studied under; you'll never forget what you learn. Ex: What I learned from her about Wollstonecraft over a year ago helped me write a high A paper for my senior level class a few weeks ago.

Do not take this class if you have the option. Ridiculously hard grader and her lectures are long and boring. Only receive a passing grade if you go to the writing center. Says she wants you to ask questions in class but when you do she replies in a stuck up way thinking that she is superior.

Professor Rainwater is amazingly brilliant. She has devoted her life to this subject American Literature. She is not out to get you: She is a tough grader, she sees potential and she won't accept less than the best. She gives chances to make up assignments, gives extra credit, and enjoys questions. I think the problem is that she picks favorites. For me, she was very helpful, kind, and easy to work with. However, A LOT of other people I have talked to have said the opposite. If you write well, go to class and pay attention, she will like you. That's all there is to it. Not an incredibly challenging course.
