Stutz is awesome. the key to getting an A participating. She assigns a lot of readings but will go over the key points in class so you don't really have to read a ton. You have like 3 tests, a few lesson plans, and a mock teaching project. Not tons of hw. get on her good side early and youre golden. sit in the front of class!!!!

She is the teacher to take if you are a EDU major. Takes a while for her to hand back graded things but she teaches around 8 classes a semester so I get it. She really, I mean really, teaches classes so well. Have a group presentation w 1 partner where you present a lesson plan which is fun! Get ready to read bc she may not go over the material.

Gives an insanely unreasonable amount of work for a low level class. Also, she expects you to build off of her feedback, but often doesn't return the first assignment until AFTER the second assignment is passed in. Sometimes emails work very late the day before class, and expects it done. Very nice, but expectations are high and feedback is sparse.

She is a good teacher but assigns a lot of reading for homework. There are no tests except for the midterm and final- all written. If you stay on top of the work it is manageable. I would take her class again if you are an education major but it's a lot of work for an intro class.

She's been the toughest professor I've ever had. She's a great person and has a wonderful sense of humor and personality, but as a teacher I would not recommend her. She's never handed back work on time, she doesn't go over the billions of readings she assigns in class, and she picks favorites- which she says is essential to avoid in the classroom.

Has ridiculous expectations. Doesn't seem to realize that students take 4 others classes. Assigns tons of long articles to read and expects you to have memorize them. Doesn't answer questions well. She makes me not want to be an educator anymore. Everything she tells you not to do in a classroom is exactly what she does in hers...avoid if you can

Dreadful professor! She gives you loads of busy work from studies that really won't be applicable to teaching. The class is very by the book and uninteresting. She is very unclear about her expectations for assignments and is of little help if you need her. Tests are also very difficult and require a lot of studying dry information.

Professor Stutz is a brilliant professor and a wicked nice lady. This course is tough though. She grades hard, there's a lot of reading (way too much reading). Literally read for probably 10 hours a week for this class. Hard midterm, hard final (both hefty on the writing), big portfolio, big project. Good luck!

She is a great teacher and you can easily tell that she is brilliant and knows her stuff. But it is a challenging course. When she tells you to do 9hrs of hw a week, actual do it. Do not get behind with your readings, they will be on the midterm & final. Make study guides. You have 1 paper & 1 project. Start your paper early.

She is a sweet woman, but can be extremely boring in class. The articles she has you read are long and tedious. I stopped reading because we didn't even bother discussing all of them. I would recommend her though because she grades fairly and is there to help you. I went to her office hours and she helped so much with my paper.

Prof. Stutz is difficult and does take a while to hand back papers, etc. and is sometimes nit-picky on exams, but overall I think she's a great professor who clearly loves what she does, and she will help if you ask her... really makes you think and is challenging - I learned a lot.

She's somewhat nice I guess. You do learn a lot in her classes, but the workload she assigns can be very excessive - at times it equaled the amount of work to be done in my other 4 classes combined. Word of a warning: The tests are very nitpicky, so be sure to know ALL the readings, and all of the assignments inside and out!

Professor Stutz is a very nice woman but is not very helpful. she gives massive amounts of reading and then doesn't go over them and they are still on the exam. Her semester-long grant project is horrible and very confusing as she doesn't give detail in her sylibus.
