Tests cover 1/3 of the material straight from the book, she will tell you that, but just read it. Has many connections in the Club Industry so you can really get to know companies and get help w the masters if you're into that. There are two field trips you have to go to but the assignments are easy. She's straightforward, do what she says & easy A

This professor cares a lot about her students. Her tests are based on lectures, but she will also include information that she does not go over in class. You are responsible for reading the book and studying that info. She is very well known in the industry, and invites very interesting guest speakers to her classes. She is a great professor!

Easily the most helpful, informative and understanding teacher I have ever taken at USC. If you are into Hospitality and want to get to know some important "contacts" around Columbia, she is the lady. My favorite teacher I have had in college!

Cathy is friendly and helpful if you are willing to work in her class. She is a little disorganized but she's also facilitating the Masters tournament. Go to class, do the reading and talk to her. She cares about her students. Quizzes are tough but there's plenty of extra credit in the class.

This class was alright. As long as you go to class and read the book you'll do fine. You go on 3 field trips which are kind of fun. If you read before the test you should be fine. She takes a really long time to post grades.

Gustafson was alright. you take a lot of notes and the book is pretty dreadful but if you don't go to the lectures, you won't do well on the exams. the field trips were fun and interesting, at least for me. interesting class and not too hard, id recommend it.

I have taken all three of her classes, and you have to go to class to get a good grade. Her tests are alot from lectures, guest speakers,a nd handouts, so you much read. She helped me get my job that i have now, and has contacts throughout the industry. Participate and she will love you

Probably the best teacher at USC. Very helpful, kind, will go out of her way for you. Tests can be tricky but if you go to class and do your work, it is an easy A. Not to mention all the connections she has. Get to know her and you will be glad you did.

The tests are very hard. You have to do a newsletter and it is difficult, and has to look professional. There are 4 field trips and you have to write 1pg paper and thank you note for each. She is very slow to grade and get your things back to you, which was annoying. The way she talks to the class is irritating. Take her instead of Harrill though.

Comment:

She is very nice and helpful, though, she gives hard tests on everything you do for the class. Go to all the labs because you get graded on assignments given. Cathy makes it hard on herself and the class with all the random assignments she gives. She keeps you the full 2 hours and enforces this by giving extra credit.
