Readings were interesting, class was not. Class lacked depth. Wasted one class going over his current research power point. Wasted more time with group chats for the last hour of class (over readings or situations). The "discussions" could have been done in less than thirty minutes. Pay attention, do the work, and you will do fine.

He was awful. He just was. And unethical. He determines your grade by what he thinks you expect to get or care to get. If he thinks you expect an A, that's what you'll get. But if he thinks you're just taking the class 'cause you're bored housewife, then you get a B, regardless of quality of work.

The amount of knowledge Professor Smith has is remarkable. All of the assignment, though tedious and labourious in length, were practical and allowed for hands on practice with issues pertaining to educational psychology.

so why bother even having a physical classroom? For all the education this guy provided, just give me the list of readings and I'll do it on my own.

It is grad school.... you should be doing the work on your own. Do you need to write book reports for every reading, to make yourself do it? I loved the way he approached the class. Freedom is a good thing!

not complain because it's an easy class??? what are you paying the school for-nothing more than a letter on a transcript? or do you want an education and feel like you received something of value for your time, effort, and money? trying to wheedle out of tests is the stuff of high school students

no kidding there was no hand holding. nor was there any teaching to any appreciable degree. it galls me that niu would charge $130 per credit for a class that I could have just as easily taken via correspondence for all the 'instruction' received in the classroom.

teaching grad school is an excuse for not having midterms or finals?? sounds more like an excuse to be lazy, since there are plenty of grad courses that do have exams.

He doesn't have midterms or finals because he teaches grad school. I think his class in interesting and I am not going to complain about a simple class.
