Comment:

Awful. She talks about participation points every five minutes then when you do raise your hand she either says no that's wrong or some other rude dismissal, as if it isn't hard enough to raise your hand. Essays need to be written EXACTLY her way. Lectures are boring and useless but mandatory.

Lots of papers and it takes a while to get her feedback on them. However, you have the opportunity to rewrite the first two, but only after she gives you her comments on them. Tough to get an A on a paper

She is very helpful and understanding! She accepts late assignment (very late if u contact her). Very clear on assignments, As others said just stick to her writing strategy and follow it exactly. If u want an A it is easy to get it. GOING TO HER OFFICE HOURS ARE VERY VERY HELPUL. Go see her before you start writing she will tell u what to write.

She is very specific about her assignment but they are easy if you follow the writing strategy. Don't try to show off your skills. Just stick to the writing strategy. Going to her office hours is a must to do well. I did the minimum to pass, and got a B. Tons of extra credit. just be patient and stick it out through the semester.

Sigmon really isn't as bad as everyone makes her out to be. Dont get me wrong though, you have to WORK for an A and that means going into her office hours every chance you get. She will give good feedback and fix your work for you but you have to take the time. Participation matters so just say something every class.

Go to every class,see her outside class. Be patient. she gives tons of extra credit points to make your bad grades on essays turn into good ones. I made c's on papers but passed with an A. follow her writing strategies line by line; you'll do fine. she goes in depth while regiewing articles to give you all the answers. nice person,caring, y funny.

Professor Sigmon is a very nice professor and will try her best to get to you if you have questions. Her lectures get boring at times but you can't really skip because she takes attendance. Participate to help your grade if you aren't the best writer. Grading is pretty fair.

Prof. Sigmon comes off as a nice person at first, but then her grading and requirements are ridiculous. Even if you follow her outline, depending on what you write, she will make you down a lot. If you're an english major, good luck getting through her class. she seems particularly hard on english students

She is at times funny, although her class is pretty boring. One thing you should keep in mind is that she is a very tough grader, this is why it is important that you follow her writing strategy exactly otherwise you'll end up with a D. I used to think I was alright at writing essays, she changed that. I don't recommend taking Professor Sigmon.

Please Do not take her rws 200 class, It is awful, you will contemplate suicide in her class, what I mean by that is that you will suffer through her boring lectures about global warming. You need to follow the writing strategy and need to write about what she tells you to or you will fail.

The biggest thing to know about Sigmon is that you need to tailor your writing to what she believes. Even though she says she wants you to write from whatever side you want to, DON'T DO IT. Make sure she believes in what you are writing no matter how painful, if you don't she will find reasons why your argument is invalid because she doesn't agree.

Although her lectures were quite interesting she would tend to go off on many tangents. Constantly I would see students browsing the internet during her lectures with her completely oblivious. She is very clear on what she wants and when I say this I mean she will mark down upon opinions and evidence that she did not discuss during lecture.

Sigmon is a nice lady, but she is oblivious on how to teach. Most of class is lecture/tangents and her prompts are so specific that all essays in the class turn out the same. If you have to take her class, show up, bring a laptop and talk once a class, go to office hours for extra credit, and try not to look bored to death. With this I managed an A

Her whole lectures are just her complaining about climate change. She doesn't really even teach us and rhetorical strategies or how to improve our writing. She basically does provide an outline to all the papers, but grades super hard if you don't have the exact same opinion as her. Show up to class to make sure you know what to write.

Don't take her, she grades you on your opinion more than your actual writing strategies. She wants everything done her way. She takes attendance and marks you off if you're late to class. Also, in the last 2 weeks of school she shoves in 2 of the 4 total essays in the class. Only good thing about her class is that the chairs have cup holders.

She is the absolute WORST teacher I have had at State. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. Extremely long and boring lectures, she is a super tough grader, there's 4 essays in the entire semester yet she crams the last 2 essays in the last week of class. Avoid her at all costs

4 essays throughout the semester and gives good feedback. However, I felt like I couldn't write about my own opinions without her shooting them down and "correcting" them. Just swallow your pride and go along with her opinions if you want to pass.
