Prof. Braun organizes the class well. Some of the assignments are challenging, but nothing impossible. He is hard to contact through email, but if you attend office hours he is kind and willing to answer any questions. Grading does take a long time, but if you're worried, he will grade it if you ask in person or at least give feedback on your code.

I took this online. It was easy for me (got 100s on almost everything). But the professor grades the assignments literally MONTHS after you turn them in. Fortunately I am good at programming, but I imagine someone who isn't would need to know how they're doing on class assignments. He's graded everything the day before the class is officially over.

Tough class to be apart of. I have recently changed my major to computer science and this is the first class to take for major specific classes. It's a beginners class for those who have no previous training in programming (like myself). However, he does not teach for beginners, he teaches as if we should already know. Be prepared to teach yourself

Took the class online so did not have interactions with the professor. His assignments, exercises, and quizzes were assigned via blackboard. Lots of reading so don't take this online if you do not have the discipline to sit down and read. Easy grade if you put the time and effort into it.

The worse professor I have ever encountered and quite honestly should not be a professor any longer. Old teaching style mentality and holds the belief that all students inherently slack off and can not do anything right. Not there for you, took half a semester to return first week assignments and overall just an awful approach to teaching. Avoid.

If you have to take this class for credit, get ready to read your textbook & use Google to your advantage. This professor's lecturing style is monotone, dry, & unhelpful. If a question is asked, he trails on to a different topic. Lastly, get ready for pop quizzes about a chapter ahead of the lecture. If you aren't ahead, this class will be hard.

The dude comes to class once a week. Hes like 80 something years old with skin drooping from his neck, and can hardly stand up right. When he teaches us, its so hard to understand, his flow is so montonone, and he doesnt prepare us well for the tests/ quizzes and homeworks. Basically the class freakin blows and you gotta learn material yourself

His methods are old. He's dry. He often doesn't understand questions asked by students. But he means well and if you know a bit about programming going into it its not very hard to make an A.

He may not appear to be a great professor but I have learned more from him than several other Comp Sci professors at Collin. His assignments can be quite challenging at times, but nothing a bit of Googling and trial and error can't solve. Lectures are pretty dry, but if you can power through them they can be quite informative.

Professor Braun is a quality computer science professor. I had professor Braun for a total of six classes including final project. I can say with a degree of confidence that he is one of the best professors that I have encountered in my relatively lengthy college career. I thought that his Java Data Structures course was by far the best.

Expects that you know what you are doing. He is unclear and confusing. Does not like to answer questions. Does not teach half of what you need to know. Worst teacher I've ever had. Also throws your homework at you.

He's absolutely one of the worst teachers I've ever had in my entire life. His lectures and projects never coincide he assigns programs and then teaches what you needed to know in the next class. He expects you to alreay know programming. He's very rude and condecending and never answers emails nor is he ever in his office like he says. DO NOT TAKE

Everything everyone said that is negative about Braun is dead on. Lately he gets lost in class and wanders away while you sit there and wonder what is going on. 90% of the students in 1437 COSC are failing because they had Braun as teacher for 1436 and learned nothing. He is only teacher for 2309, and that means nobody learns anything.

WORST PROFESSOR! I needed this class for some digital animation program course but this class wants me want to change my entire major. He doesn't explain ANYTHING and expects you to KNOW what he's talking about before you take the course. I don't even know how I managed to get a B last semester because I didn't know what I was doing half the time.

He is an old school professor. Insists every lab be printed and turned in. Will not except email submissions. There is homework given at every class. The only test in his class is the final at the end of the semester. He is usually 15 minutes late to class and he never returns papers. Plus he is a stickler about typing names on assignments.

He doesn't have an accent, is usually friendly, and readily answers questions during the lecture. However, he normally started class about 15 minutes late, was not very organized, and took awhile to return homework. Some homework was never returned, so it was tough to know how you were doing in the class.

The class wasn't difficult, but you need to watch your grade like a hawk. My grade is wrong, but I cannot get in touch with him to get it straightened out. He won't return e-mails, and his phone isn't connected to an answering machine. Very frustrating.

So far, I think he is a very good teacher. He lookes for confused faces -- and asks them if they understand. Unlike other commentors -- I have not seen him to be ugly to anyone yet.
