not only is he an awful teacher, but he is an awful person. by all means, if you're interested in someone's useless cynical view of the world, then take his class. do yourself a favor, don't do what i did, and avoid him AT ALL COSTS. Dr. Hallett is an excellent professor who will challenge you to write better. His exams are challenging, however, if you study enough, you will do quite well. Make sure to work hard and Dr. Hallett's class will be very fulfilling and interesting for you. If you are a screw up and looking for an easy grade, just drop out of Fordham right now.

The lecture consists of him talking and babbling, and then once ina while going "any questions? ugh..um.." and then he continues to babble. Midterm and final pretty easy. Paper was interesting, but he's way harsh on grading. Watch your grammar because content won't save you. Overall, not bad. I still did well in the class.

Ugh..not the WORST, but I would avoid if possible. Lectures are a drag. He's very intelligent, but he has no concept of the world after the year 1760. Midterm and final are easy, but he is SO HARD on your papers!! Watch your grammar, because apparently content isn't good enough.

I do not comprehend why such an ignorance exists with all of the ratings given to Professor Hallett. He is very approachable and an extremely intelligent person. If you do the work and pay attention(in other words,go to class-which apparently none of you do), you will succeed. College is about work!

Hardly ever went to class (boring, no purpose) and ended up with A-. Final paper and midterm easy, one large paper difficult but semi-interesting...in my opinion easy grader considering missed every class after midterm and most before. Seemed like nice guy.
