When I learned that professor Helou was teaching another class I had to take i was ecstatic. He was an amazing professor. His grading was very forgiving and his priority was on students learning rather then grading harshly. I would absolutely recommend taking a class with him.

Comment:

Helou is a great teacher. After a speed bump in the beginning I found his way of teaching and grading to be very clear and fair. I would definitely take this teacher again and have grown to respect him throughout the smester.

Dr. Helou is a true genius. His lectures are structured around many proofs and examples, so if you're not a huge math fan, good luck, but you will learn a lot. He's great with answering questions and is a generally nice guy and he gives plenty of partial credit.

A master of mathematics. Charles Helou may be one of the greatest mathematicians to ever live on this planet and teach at Penn State Brandywine. He had very instructive lectures and gave fair exams and quizzes. If you complete the homework, the quizzes and exams are very similar to the homework's so DO THEM. He really tries to help the students out

A genius math professor. He barely need his note for the class and is always able to answer your questions well. The materials are tough, need to spend a lot of time on homework to get a good grade. He is the only person that actually makes math a fun thing to learn. Had him for 2 semesters. I figured his grading policy is going easier. MUST TAKE!

Pay attention in class. Tough course, but not impossible. Understand as much as you can and ask whenever there is even an inkling of a confusion. Do your work. Cramming in this course won't help you. He's a good professor and very open to students asking questions. He wants to teach you. Will help you if you ask for it.

Charles Helou is the BOMB! He is such an amazing professor at the campus and cares more about students than any other professor. His teaching style is also unique because he adjusts to student pace. He is an expert at math and always answers student questions well. Recommend everyone to have him at least one semester in order to see his genuisness.

heleou is an excellent teacher, i wish he was here in UP. I never realized how fast time goes by in his class, his class is such an interesting class and explains really well. His tests are kinda hard if you dont do each and every homework problem. Make sure you know how to do the hard ass problems in the Hw coz it would be on the test, He loves it

Dr. Helou is nice, but he seems to get agitated easily. For Math 220, we had 5 tests of ~35 points each. You needed to get a 95% to get an A. AFAIK he doesnt give reasoning behind topics, instead he tells us how to go about solving problems. It seems that memorizing these methods is the way to go. Using khanacademy will really help in this course.

Charles Helou is by far the best math teacher I have had to date. I have taken math 230, 250, 220 at UP and there wasn't a teacher that came close to Helou. He has a deep understanding of the material and expects you to rise to his level. His classes are challenging but you will walk away with a profound understanding of the material.

I had Dr Helou 12 years ago in Calc 230 - He is a very good teacher. He likes math a lot and is happy to debate or answer any questions you have. He gave me a missed exam by appointment and was very understanding. Study and you will do well in his class.

Dr. Helou was a great teacher. It took me a week or two to get through his accent, but once you get past that, you probably will not find a better "high level" math teacher.
