Horrible Professor in this whole Towson University, I have ever seen. He had his own grading criteria which are so confusing and he is not a fair grader as well. Never ever take him. Avoid him.

Comment:

Be ready to teach yourself most of the material. He uses all CPA questions that he doesn't prepare you for and the final is cumulative. Only thing that saved me is the case studies and the group project which is worth a test grade. MAKE SURE YOU PARTICIPATE. He gives out extra credit at the end of the semester depending on participation.

Comment:

Took online class because the reviews of in-class teaching were bad. He is still extremely rude and condescending online. Typing in all capital letters ( yelling) for asking even simple questions to clarify assignments or the syllabus that don't actually explain anything just repeat the same information. Grade only based on 3 exams no other work.

Prof Martin is a nice professor but tough grader. You really need to study hard for his exams . Make sure to study Gliem questions and practice them online about 50 times or as much as you can. The more you study them the better grade you can get. Don't skip class because he collects the hw in class. He won't accept any late work at no cost.

Rude and unhelpful. Homework is tough, and both lectures and homework are irrelevant and unhelpful for the exams. Don't read the textbook. Start studying a few weeks in advance for every exam, and use the online test prep that comes with the CPA questions book. Hardest class I've ever taken.

Dr. Martin is a nice man, but expect his class to be tough. He uses randomly chosen CPA questions for the exams to prevent cheating. That makes the exams pretty difficult. You will learn a lot about the course material and how to prepare for the CPA exam. Study the CPA questions first, then the textbook for the quizzes.

This guy was absolutely TERRIBLE!!! I tried emailing him about questions with this course, and all he would do is copypaste from the Syllabus or the Discussion Board off of Blackboard, and would paste it into the email that he would reply you back with. Simply pointless! I would STRONGLY suggest you NOT taking this professor if you can avoid him!

Don't take his class. You have to teach yourself everything, or get a tutor. If you miss an exam online due to an emergency he will give you a zero. He could care less if you pass his class or not. Most people dropped his class, or are failing this semester. Don't take him.

The video's online don't help, because they deviate away from what's given on the homework assignments, & exams. I had to figure everything out on my own. The grade scale on the syllabus is wrong too. Don't take his class online, because you will have to figure out everything on your own. Most students dropped his class. Get ready to fail!

Hardest class i've ever taken, and i've had friends that passed accounting 201 (with a different prof) with flying colors. Online homework due everyweek. Tests are extremely hard. Embarrasses students. Never struggled this hard in a class before. DO NOT TAKE. Avoid at all costs

Good professor, knew a lot about accounting. Gives a multiple choice quizzes on each chapter. Not a lot of questions but can effect your grade. Online homework mandatory and graded harshly. Definitely do not miss class.

He taught in a very specific way. Explains why things were a certain way which was helpful. Homework helps. He likes to pick on students that he thinks don't know the answers, but explains why your answers are wrong. You MUST study for his tests they are computational and very hard. If you study you should do fine. The final is multiple choice

I have very mixed views of this professor. He does pick on students but then there are other times when he seems like he does want to help. HW is online using Wiley (take it serious), and 3 exams (not multiple choice), and a final (multiple choice of all chapters). He sends emails on what's on the exams and you must study because he grades HARD!

Going to class is not required but when you do get ready for a intense and dreadful class. He does like to pick on, intimidate, and embarrass students. Even if you are a good student. But he is willing to explain material you don't understand in class. I don't think you should take him if you are new to accounting or if your a sensitive student.

Martin knows his stuff for sure and isn't a bad instructor at all yet his class is difficult. He can be flexible if you show that you care to learn and won't base everything purely off of [bad] exam grades. A decent amount of study hours is needed for this class to keep up but if you devote time you'll be fine!

I would HIGHLY recommend that you avoid him! He likes to pick on students who he thinks doesn't know the answer! His exams are somewhat like problems in class but he uses tricky words to confuse you, better yet throw you off! He doesn't like to help at all! He assigns problems he THINK you should already know! Ummm,,,NO WE DON'T SIR! AVOID HIM!
