Very interesting class. This professor is hindered by the poor quality of students attending the class. Do not take this class if you just want GE credit. Take an easy A class and leave the good teachers to those who want to learn about linguistics.

She is the worst teacher I have ever had. Ca you say tenure? She has it and it is obvious that is the only reason she still teaches. If you have to take her, good luck, you will need it.

I have heard all kind of comments about her, I took other linguistic teachers and actually she is the least worst, linguistics is not an easy class so do not expect to pass it if you are not there. She knows the material and she explains well, but if somebody have a question she can do a better job explaining. just be there, and review your notes

C. Webb is not that bad of a teacher. If you pay attention you will do fine. Not necessary to attend every class. Does not insult your intelligence, some people just ask too many questions instead of listening. Was a bit disorganized, but was very nice and always willing to help. Posts recaps of lectures online. Take this teacher...could be worse!!

She is the worst teacher I've ever had in my college experience. She is so unclear and confusing, she makes you feel stupid for asking questions, and her tests are extremely hard. I would never take this teacher again and do not recommend her! I dreaded this class and am glad it's finally over, she should not be teaching!

Prof. W is "nice"-- as in, her class is really easy and she goes really slowly and treats us like we are idiots. All you have to do is read the lecture notes and show up on exam days and you will do fine. If you go to class, prepare to have you intelligence insulted. She loves to say stuff like, "you guys have never heard of a record player but..."

I loved Dr. Webb. She really knows her stuff and her study sessions were very helpful. The paper assignment was something to question but if you have a good grade on the exams and attend class daily, you should do fine. I would definately take another class by her. She was awesome

Prof Webb knows her stuff so well she rarely refers to lecture notes. Her added side stories add to her lectures and help you understand the concepts. Go to class and take notes and you will do well. Great study sessions too!

I hated this class. She is nice but it was so hard I don't know what the other people are talking about. You don't need the textbook just you the class noted that you have to buy and make sure that you go to class unless you are an expert about linguistics.

super nice lady. I never read the reader or notes, but I did always go to class and I got an A-. If you like Ling then it's a great class. If you are a lazy liberal arts major then you may need to work for once. If you ever have questions email her, she will reply w/in 24hrs (or ask nice TA)

Easy Easy Easy! never went to class, just study aztec notes and go to short study sessions before three tests. one paper to do...not fair grades, but 25 extra credit points will fix that! HA! definitely recommended!

Easy course, but boring lectures. Take my advice and read the Aztec notes and you dont have to go to the lectures. She doesnt grade her own papers and her helpers are very hard graders even for the best writers. Dont write the paper if you dont have to.
