Literally my favorite teacher at UT Martin. Ive never met a teacher that cares so much about his students. Tests are kinda hard but if you study and take notes youll do fine!!

Comment:

I'm not a Political Science person, but Dr. Baxter made this class enjoyable. Though attendance is not mandatory, I would not have done as well if I didn't show up for class. There were three 3 page papers we had to do. The tests are a little tricky, but as long as you show up and study, you'll be fine.

The power points are uploaded to canvas, and he records his lectures. He's a funny guy, and he's good at explaining complicated concepts. He wants you to succeed. He assigns papers, and the criteria is pretty vague, so get ready to write on something you're somewhat uninformed on.

Comment:

Professor Baxter is a great guy. He makes politics really simple to understand. He uses a lot of the same jokes over and over, but he's funny. Try counting how many times you hear the words "You with me?" during class. He really does care whether or not you understand the material.

He was super laid back. I loved coming to class for the debates. He fostered expression of ideals. Study for the test and you'll be fine. Come to class with your opinions and an open mind.

Dr. Baxter is a great professor. His jokes are very dry and you can tell he's told them a few (hundred) times, but he is a nice guy who is more than willing to help you get a good grade. I would recommend him, just not for an 8am. You will fall asleep.

Dr. Baxter is one of the best professors. His class is easy, if you miss then audio lectures were posted on line. Gave a study guide for every test. You did need to take decent notes but there weren't many. He talked about current issues and would even answer questions about curent issues.

Comment:

Dr. Chris Baxter was a great professor for Political Science 210. His tests are straight forward with no trick questions. He gives a few different opportunities for extra credit. We had 2 papers which he grades very easily. If we did good on the first one, we could take that grade on the second so we didn't have to do it. Highly recommend him.

Teacher was really easy. If you skip class he has lectures online as well. I really don't recommend skipping however. He doesn't give many tests and if he doesn't get around to lecturing about a topic before a test he won't put anything about it on he test. You don't have to have the book either though he recommends a lot of the charts in it.

I liked him as an instructor a lot. He's straightforward; no trick questions or complicated explanations. He puts his lectures online so you can listen to them if you miss class or if you just want to go back and listen. Go to class and listen, write papers, and you'll pass the exams no sweat.

Baxter is the BEST prof I've had at UTM! He explains everything CLEARLY and to the point. Everything is off powerpoint & exams are straightforward. Provides study guides & records his lectures so you can go back and listen if you miss class. Highly intelligent man! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Dr. Baxter is HILARIOUS!!! Honestly I enjoyed going to his Gens class everyday and plan to take his political science class this next semester. He is a big goofball. His Gens class is SOOOOOO EASY!!! We do hardly anything in class, and as long as you do the assignments you'll get a easy A.

I'm a cell&molecular bio major so this class was just a humanities I had to take! SO EASY!! I made all A's on the test, all you have to do is attend class (he does take attendance sometimes) and take notes. His study guides are the EXACT SAME as his tests. Only 2 papers in there on really interesting topics also! TAKE HIM!!!
