love love love this man! awesome prof. had for pop music and the class was fun, interesting and really opens your eyes. also west african dance - amazing but hard core. be prepared to work your butt off. he's very serious and expects a lot of work from you for this course. papers are easy. wish he was still working here! MU lost a great one!

OMG..I love this professor! Whether you love music or hate it, (me) you will LOVE his classes. I'm an English major but took 2 electives, pop music one semester and and music and culture the next with Dr. Corley and always enjoyed class. Always fun and interesting!

Loved his class, i had him in the Lyte Auditorium with over a hundred students so he couldn't take attendance.. quizzes were weekly and the same question were on the mid-term ... i ened with an A... take him

he's a pretty cool teacher. he is really passionate about what he teaches and teaches it well. the quizzes are straight from the book, so if you study they are easy. for the test he just copies quiz questions exactly as we saw them the first time so again, if you study, you will do well. you will learn a lot if you take this class!

Awesome professor. Knows his stuff through and through. Can lecture non stop through a class with no notes. I've never appreciated African American Pop music more. This guy really knows what he's doing.

Dr. Corley is the man! He is enthusastic about his teaching and is very knowledgeable about the topics. Not a traditional pop music class, takes an African American history approach to modern music. You dont really need the textbook. Just pay attention to what he emphasizes in lectures and you will pass.

He is so passionate about what he teaches. You can tell he enjoys his job, and he makes class fun. His personality motivates you to learn. If you don't study for this class you will fail miserably. He is great with meeting for office hours to make sure you understand the material. Excellent class (for music majors).

He is a really cool guy. His voice goes in and out but overall you understand what he's sayin. He teaches using alot of films and vocabulary. Gives great examples of whatever he is talking about. Test are generally on what he teaches and does review sheets so you know what to study. Loves music and very willing to help as long as you go see him.

first of all he was very rude to anyone who wasn't a favorite...and for the entire semester his voice gave in and out so you could hardley understand what he was saying...ever (he wasn't sick)...he also played his videos and music extremely too loud, so unless you want to go deaf--> don't take his class. also he is not hot what-so-ever
