One of the best. Honestly, very few professors in lower level classes have the ability to make any significant impact on your life, but Chris managed to do it.

Dr. Hughes is great! He structures his class so that lectures are online and during class you do practice problems in groups. This really helped me learn the material. He tries as hard as he can to help you pass! Watch the videos, do the homework, and don't skip class. Physics is challenging but definitely doable with Dr. Hughes.

Dr. Hughes is a really nice guy, but this class is really difficult. All of his lectures are online and he doesn't/rarely teach physics in class. Defiantly do the homework and group work because it will help raise your grade. Take him only if you have time to learn physics on your own and not dealing with the stress of other classes.

One of the best Professors I've had at JMU, very easy to understand and is willing to help you on any assignment. Took this as a gen ed but I would take any class again in a heartbeat.

Awesome Professor. So good at taking ideas that seem foreign and dumbing them down to the level of kids who arent necessarily physics gods. lots of opportunities to raise your grade with quiz's and in-class assignments. makes class interesting and is clearly very knowledgeable about the subject. dont get textbook

I took his section of GSCI 104 called the Physics of Dance. This class met once a week for 2 hours where we observed the Advanced Ballet students for 30 minutes and then he took over for for the rest of class. He's really nice and really cares about all of his students. I would definitely take this class again!

Dr. Hughes is one of my favorite professors. Physics is a really hard class but Hughes definitely wants to make sure his students know what they're doing. He loves to help and a really nice and funny professor. He is adorable and I would definitely want him as a professor again.

Great teacher, class is very laid back. The best part about him? He looks like Eric Foreman's clone, from "That 70s show". They are identical twins.

For a gen-ed, this isn't bad at all. He makes it interesting and realizes that we're all non-science majors just getting through a gen-ed requirement. This doesn't mean that it's easy, but it is do-able. Nice, funny guy!

Don't buy the book! Waste of $100. Class was a bit much for an intro class- but Dr. Hughes was enthusiastic about the subject and always available for help. 3 tests, a final, homework, and labs make up your grade. Lowest test grade is only worth 10%.

Best physics professor! Dr.Hughes is a hilarious guy and great teacher. Definitely go to office hours if you're confused. His tests can be tricky, you really have to understand the material. The final is pretty easy. My only complaint was sometimes he was a little complacent about posting hwk answers and review sheets.

He's the professor to take for 240. Really respectful and approachable. Pretty funny during the lectures (tough to pull off at 8 am). If you don't get a concept in class, his office hours are the REALLY good. Fair tests, just do the homework problems. TAKE HIM.

Very funny guy, makes class interesting, and if you do the homework and study even a little bit, you'll do well. Don't even bother buying the book, though - it's around 100 bucks, and he even admits its more of a "further reading" type thing; I've never even cracked it open.

Way too hard for a 1 credit class! He tries to help you understand it, but if you don't understand chemistry then chances are you still won't. Midterm and final are both hard, but you can make up for it with lab grades - they're easy. Homework and a group project are the only other grades. Not -bad-, but come to class prepared to work hard.
